"Only people who help paint the Sister's room are allowed to sing along," they told me, glaring.

my family used to sit around the table with lyrics sheets to JC Superstar and argue as to who got what part, then play the LP in the background and sing along to the whole thing. I lovelovelove JCS and can sing the entire soundtrack verbatim. *hearts on you for loving it too*

Dude, Jesus Christ Superstar was one of, like, three albums -- along with Meatloaf and Mary Chapin Carpenter -- that my mother played during her Saturday morning cleaning sprees *every week* of my childhood. They're all wedged in there.

I didn't actually see the movie till a few years ago, though. But when I was at college in Massachusetts, it was, like, a bonding ritual for us. "Whiny Jesus!" "Sexy lepers!" "Mmm, Judas. With *fringe*." "Flail, apostles, flail!"
