Today thus far I have:

+ showered
+ gotten dressed
+ fed the dogs
+ gotten together all the information I need to order my transcripts to be sent to U of O*
+ tidied the kitchen
+ read [livejournal.com profile] thehoyden's excellent new dS story
+ fielded a panicky phone call from my sister at the airport**
+ looked the non-work-study jobs listed online for school and wondered about my lack of qualifications for anything
+ cuddled under a blanket on the couch and watched Say Anything***

In the rest of the day to come, I plan to:

+ cuddle up under a blanket some and read Sandman****
+ bring all the laundry down from the upstairs
+ cook something tasty
+ plan an epic trip to either the convenience or grocery store to pick up Coke and C batteries and perhaps onions
+ try to find various people online and glomp them
+ see if I can find any writing mojo hiding around for me

All in all, quite satisfactory.

*One might point out that this could -- nay, should -- have been done weeks ago, especially since the mid-October deadline is rapidly approaching. I don't think it's that kind to point out other's shortcomings, though.

**She was afraid I was going to forget to tape Everwood for her tonight. This clearly requires multiple urgent calls from several states away. Ah, my little fangirl.

***On some level, I am aware there must be plenty of girls who watched this movie and did not totally imprint on Lloyd Dobler as total heartthrob/sekrit boyfriend of their hearts. It's still a little hard to believe, though.

****On careful searching through my various bookcases -- I really do need to organize them all; I don't know how this summer went so quickly -- I was able to determine that I own volumes one, three, four, six and seven of the series, as well as Endless Nights. I thought I had World's End, too, but no.

Dude - mda October?? You've got *plenty* of time!

(says she, the Queen of Procrastination)

And yay! Say Anything! Best movie ever!

Well, but the transcript request for Evergreen takes two weeks to process once they get it. So it is cutting it a *little* close.

Say Anything! So good! It's so sad it belong to my sister and not me. Sigh.

*glomps back*

Surely you jest. It is impossible to watch that movie at any stage of pre- or post-adolescence and not end up walking around with a Lloyd-shaped hole in one's heart. My freshman year of college (about a year after Say Anything was in theatres), someone asked my roommate and me who our ideal boyfriend was. We both answered, "Lloyd Dobler." The girl said, "Oh, yeah; I really like John Cusack, too." Kris and I responded, "No, you don't get it: Lloyd Dobler."

Lloyd.

*sigh*

I do like John Cusack in general, too, though; it doesn't hurt anything that this movie is the hottest he's ever been.

*puts up hand* I am just such a one. (Don't hate me.) I mean, I liked Lloyd and all, but I only saw Say Anything for the first time a couple of years ago, and I'd already imprinted strongly in my teens on Dez (Aidan Quinn) in Desperately Seeking Susan. *deep sigh*

Btw, have you heard the DVD commentary on Say Anything? It's hilarious. Crowe repeatedly tries to get Cusack and Skye to admit that they'd fallen in love with each other during the making of the film. :-)

Aw, I will not hate you! Pfft. I will merely keep you to study and look upon as an interesting curiosity!

Also, no, I totally haven't seen the commentary. Hmm, maybe I should do that.

you probably understand that i read the footnotes first and then went back to check and see what they meant, before reading through the whole thing. because that's what footnotes do.

in other news, housing was worried because you were registered for early check in (orientation) and then didn't show up. i talked to your ra today, though, so he knows that you aren't dead.

xox

you should be here soon.

Soon, soon, soon!

I hope the roommates are not scary. I do not look forward to the "hiding in my room and only coming out to cook" option.
