I can no longer listen to any Iron & Wine songs without thinking of Fraser. Why? I do not know. Yet it is so.

This isn't necessarily *bad* or anything -- I mean, it's not like I don't adore both Fraser and this music -- but. Hmmph. Weird.

The video store *still* doesn't have Jersey Girl in, boo. But we did get Mean Girls and Return of the King for me to watch yet again, along with Miracle (based almost solely on [livejournal.com profile] dsudis's rec. That and hockey.) So hopefully those will make up for the day and a half of PACKING FRENZY I have ahead of me.

A hockey game has three periods of twenty minutes (hence no halftime, just two intermissions). At any given time, teams have five skaters and one goalie on the ice, though in extreme circumstances they will pull the goalie and put out a sixth skater, in order to have the man-advantage. Man-advantages also occur if one side is penalized, because the player who takes the penalty is required to sit out for two (or sometimes four, or five, or ten) minutes and may not be replaced on the ice. Penalties include hooking, tripping, holding, elbowing, highsticking, goalie interference, unsportsmanlike conduct, charging, boarding, and, let us not forget, slashing. If you draw blood, the penalty is usually doubled from two minutes to four. Fighting is a five minute major penalty. "Misconduct," i.e. really pissing off the ref, is ten minutes.

For the offsides rule, I would need to draw a diagram.
