food/cooking: arcaedia keeps The Spice Must Flow (http://www.of2minds.org/spice/), and I hear things about [Unknown site tag]...

books/reading: rilina and papersky both read a lot, and do nice reporting; when I started reading rilina she was downing a book (or two!) a day, so her archives are well worth checking out. She's slowed slighly since then.
