I'm having one of those weekends where I'm just feeling melancholy and miserable for no real reason. All of a sudden I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed and curl up on the couch with a quilt and watch Disney movies and read books I haven't read eight million times before. And maybe have someone else cook for me.

Also, my hormones continue to drive me in-fucking-sane. I'm always tempted to blame this on my teenage girl status, but it occurs to me that there's no way it's just magically going to stop in two months, anyway. And, I mean, I have lots of friends who love me and think I'm fabulous, and I know it and appreciate and love them all -- it's not that I'm lonely or even that I want a boyfriend. It's more like -- man, I *really* want someone to make out with, goddammit.

I obviously need a hormone-attacking stick.

Also, I really want a Coke right now.

None of that is directly connected to the fact that I keep posting all this pointless and self-indulgent stuff, really. I'm not sure what that's about, really. Nonetheless -- [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63 just posted a variation on the first line meme that just went around, using the *ending* lines instead. I'll give that a try. Again, any fandoms, lengths, whatever are cool.

Their idea: Have people write short fics or drabbles that END with one of the last lines from one of your fics.

My last lines:

It was *delightful*.

It can't be a real memory, she realizes, but that's all right.

And we stand, like this, for a minute more.

"Shhh," Ray said, and then he fell asleep.

He started to go through tomorrow's duties and his plans for the day in his head, but the bed was warm and comfortable and sweet, and before he had made it past breakfast Fraser had fallen asleep.

She thinks she'll fall asleep as soon as she gets home.

P.S. Yours? I like that.

Off you go.

"I get you, Ray," Fraser said, and he reached out to take Ray's hand in his own.

There is room in my life for another ghost.

Ray was smiling and saying, "Hey, Fraser," but Fraser didn't stop to listen; instead, he wrapped his hands around Ray's upper arms and leaned in to kiss his loud, familiar, well-loved mouth.

Fraser didn't say anything to that, but he squeezed a little where he gripped Ray's hip, and they stood there like that for a while longer.

He says quietly, "I'd like that, Ray. I'd like that very much."

"I *do*. Come on, Fraser, *do* it--" Ray said, voice overflowing with urgency, and Fraser sucked in another breath and hoped not to burn up as he let go, stopped trying, stopped resisting Ray's orbit -- and Ray moved back, making space for him, letting Fraser in like the space had always been there for the taking.

But after she's learned it all, if Serenity wants, maybe she'll share it with him.

Kaylee smiled back, and she had the bizarre feeling that she'd suddenly found something she hadn't even knowN she'd been waiting for.

You don't have any words within you to respond to that, but you comfort her again the best way you know.

She rolls her eyes where the girl can't see and starts refining her escape plan.

There isn't very much, though, and between the old stains from his older wounds and the mighty unsettling dream that's still in his head from the night, Mal doesn't notice.

It looked like he was going to have to have another talking-to with Simon Tam about controlling his gorram sister.

River didn't respond, just breathed against his chest, and they lay together silently in the rough clearing as the night wore on.

And River holds his hand tight and trembles against him.

This might not be Ephram's real life, but it's a pretty good one anyway.

Ephram shook his head and looked away, but Bright thought he was probably fighting a smile.

After another year, I went off to college on the East Coast, and I left Everwood and all my ghosts behind for good.

"Ah, Casey," he says, looking into Casey's confused eyes and feeling a little sad, "you really should have come to L.A."

He could feel his blood quicken at the thought of the treasure he sought, and he laughed a little and hummed Elizabeth's favorite song as he thought over his plans.

It's not very much, but it's something different, and he thinks he can fall asleep like this, no ghosts, just the clear shining glow of his future all around.

And you believe him.

Rogue hugged him tighter for as long as she could.

okay, late, but I tried.

Laynie loses her virginity the first week Colin's in the hospital. The doctors, so so many doctors, all saying "don't give up hope, except you really should." They let Bright go after two days and he never came back to see Colin or anything. She thinks of him ducking around corners on main street to avoid them. He probably is.

She would avoid herself if she could. She hesitates to drive, but she does. One town, two towns away until nothing said Colin or Gone or Wait. She meets whoever he is in a donut shop in a town smaller than Everwood and fifty miles away. He takes her outside, offers her a cigarette and then a beer. They do it in the back of his truck and at some point she's staring at a spare tire and crying and he never notices.

He was nice enough. She's already forgotten his name. She thinks she'll fall asleep as soon as she gets home.
