Oh my god, I just bought a *lot* of food. And spent a crapload of money, more to the point.

So, to quote lynn -- "Hooray, I won't starve!" I can think of three reasons behind my craziness, though:

A. The pharmacy lady told me it'd be 45 minutes before I could pick up my pills. Since I don't have a watch, this meant I dragged my feet even more slowly than usual all around the store, looking at everything two or three times.

B. I shouldn't always be let out of the house alone. My brain really isn't very good at remembering to speak up with the "Erica, do you really need the prettily packaged scone mix? Or ten dollars worth of soup?" It's really sucky, actually.

C. You know how people say you shouldn't go shopping when you're hungry? This is TRUE. It's especially true when it's four in the afternoon and you haven't eaten in eighteen hours.

Random questions I was thinking of on the bus ride home:

*loves on you like whoa*

Holupkies -- cabbage stuffed with ground beef and rice and stuff, sometimes with tomato sauce on top. Short-cut pierogies -- dough and mashed potatoes and fried onions. Gratnuckels -- dough and cabbage and fried onions.

OK, yup, the holupkies are exactly what I thought. (I've got a kickass recipe if you ever want it. And I use *lots* of tomato sauce, and I cook it with bacon draped over the top, which probably isn't very healthy but adds *tons* of flavor.)

Mmmm, perogies. Are they folded like normal ones?

And those gratnuckels sound great! Why have I never had them before?

Well, the difference between real pierogies and short cut pierogies is that instead of the actual pierogies, shortcut pieorgies are just little pieces of dough and the potatoes adn the onions all mixed together in a big bowl.

And, I don't know! I avoid them myself whenever possible, because I hate every cabbage-y food I have ever tasted in my life. But that's me.
