[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: which, reminds me, omg, dude.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: I have a fucking field trip this week.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: Because I am apparently in 4th grade and no one told me.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: I am going to be gone all of Wednesday and Thursday to go and sleep in a cabin on the cold rainy beach

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: noooooooooooo!!

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: where we will not do anything we could not be doing at school
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: and has nothing to do with Russia, exactly
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: except that the professors thought it would be cool.

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: wow
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: uhm, fun?

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: *sniffles*
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: No internet! Stuck being around all these people!

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: omg!
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: the horror!

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: four hour car ride each way!

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: its terrible
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: gah
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: holy fuck
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: dude

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: and there's nothing there but, like, nature.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: Like I care about the washington state beach.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: or hiking or whatever the fuck.

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: you're a stronger woman than I

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: *sigh*
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: Maybe I'll manage to write porn during the boring bits.

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: LOL!
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: the boring bits of *nature*

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: *grins*
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: well, like, the schedule they gave us?
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: it's like 1pm, arrive at La Push
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: 1 - 1.30, unload in cabins
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: 1.30 - 5: free time: explore the beaches and forests
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: Why do we need a field trip for me to walk around in the rain for three hours?

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: LOL
[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: go write porn

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: and then on Thursday before we leave we have "beach time" for two hours
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: which, I don't know if you've ever been on the NW coast

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30: feh

[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: but it's generally cold and rainy and in like, the 50s, in July.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: (we're spending more time driving than in the class things.
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: the same class things we do at school.)
[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: bah.

awww, ain't estrella cute when she pretends to have interest in nature? pssst, E, dear, "nature" usually involves things like "wearing sneakers." You might want to rethink that.

1.30 - 5: free time: explore the beaches and forests
"beach time" for two hours

pearl, lemme translate: "HOURS AND HOURS YOU CAN SPEND WRITING PORNY PORN PORN PORN."

Estella would never let *facts* get in the way of an opportunity to mock me!

Sigh. Porn. We can only cross our fingers.

Field trips aren't really a fourth-grade thing; they're just not usually a humanities thing. Granted, I like nature and geo field trips still make me want to die. When I go nature-exploring on my own, I can flee the cold and rain. When I'm on a field trip, I get graded on crawling over muddy outcrops in the snow.

Erm.

But my field trip at SRC to see that awful production of The Scarlet Letter was rather amusing.

It was less the fact of a field trip at all than the completely pointless nature of it that made me go on a big whining fit. Um, that and the overnightness, as opposed to, you know, going to town and doing something for an hour.
