I resisted, I did, for as long as I could! I ignored the warning emails, I lived without them for a few weeks. But finally it came down to today, and I had to splurge that whole extra two dollars. Userpics, I missed you!

What better way to celebrate my weakness than with uploading a new icon, right? This prettiness is courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] tarar.

(On a completely different note, exactly a month till my birthday, eeeeeeeee! This is the dorky christmas and birthday I sent to my parents --

MONEY!!! towards plane ticket east

It pays in my family to be really really ridiculously specific, I've found in the past. Otherwise we get my mother just buying things she'd think we'd like, and that almost never ends well.

Well, I don't know if I'm going east. It really depends if I get money towards it over the holiday season, you know?

If it did happen -- which is actually probably not the most likely thing -- it would probably be in the spring, and I would be crashing with Fox at Bryn Mawr. Which possibly would allow us to take a bus up to NYC to see people, but who knows.

Hmm, fic wishlist. Um.

due south: Fraser/Kowalski, Kowalski/Frannie. Fic with kid/adolescent/twenties for Fraser or RayK, whether gen, slash or het.

firefly: river/simon. river/mal. river-centricness in general.

teenage girl movies (josie, bring it on, mean girls): femslash, yay!

other: jeremy/natalie (sports night), curtis/hope (twitch city).

*thinks* That's all I have off the top of my head, I guess.

Your list made me laugh - most emphatically with rather than at you, as this is PRECISELY the sort of thing my family does and for much the same reason. With my parents' short-term memories in the shape they're in (Mom has a degenerative brain condition, Dad's had several TIAs), I find I now actually have to specify not only things like size, which they used to know (I haven't changed size appreciably in, like, 12 years), but also, when it comes to kitchen equipment, maker. Otherwise my request for an immersion blender is likely to yield, say, a cappucino frother, which was what the idiotic gourmet-food-store people sold my poor sweet mom when she tried to describe what I'd asked for.

On Sandman: If you do not get these for Christmas - or if you'd like to read them rather earlier than late December - I own them all, plus various other semi-connected things (two or three graphic novels centering around Death and the Sandman Companion, for certain sure), and would be perfectly happy to send them to you on extended loan. I just did this for [livejournal.com profile] gurrier with another book, and it made me feel a little like an unusually happy Lucien, so you'd be doing me a favor. Let me know if this appeals.

See, I've read the series all the way through twice now; it's just I want to *own* them all, have them all for my very own. And my getting of them so far has been very erratic -- mostly previous presents -- thus the random ordering. But, yeah. I can always get them fromt he library again to read, but -- I want them to be *mine*.
