LJ styles that don't have the customization option of sticking with normal comment pages make me SAD.

*pouts quietly*

Heh. I think by "you" there you mean just that it's possible for *someone* to do, because, uh, me? Not so much.

*grin* okay, i've cluttered up my styles something impressive, but i think i remember what a clean slate looks like.

first thing is to go here. (you get there from customize->advanced->your layers.)

now, there should be a little list on this page that looks kind of like this, only with the name of whichever style it is that you're using instead of The Boxer:

LayerIDTypeNameActions
Child of layer 49045: The Boxer
214167user(none)[Edit] [Delete]

if there's more than one layer listed, you want the one that's user (none) below the style you're currently using. if there aren't any layers listed (or there's no list at all), scroll down to the bottom of the screen to where it says "Create layout-specific layer". select type: user and layout: whichever layout you're currently using. then click the button to create it. now you should see something like the table for sure.

go to that user (none) layer and click on the button that says "Edit". a form will open that's basically a big text box and a button that says "Compile". there will be a few lines of code in the box already; leave them there. add to the end of the text in this box the following line:

set view_entry_disabled = true;

be sure you have the semicolon! then click the button to compile. it should give you a success message.

that's all you need to do! the only tricky part here is that if you go back to the main customization page and click the "Edit Customizations" page, you'll lose what you've just done. The good news is, you can come right back and redo it! :)

there is text in that sample text, even if your style won't show it!
