i like books
10/12/04 18:30Take this list of authors, remove those whose efforts do not grace your shelves, and bring the list up to ten by adding some more that do. New paragraph indicates newly added authors.
J.R.R. Tolkien
Pamela Dean
Alice Walker
Laura Esquivel
Steven Brust
Judith Tarr
Charles de Lint
Robert Parker
William Goldman
Neil Gaiman
Jane Austen
Terry Pratchett
Edward Gorey
Kelly Link
Jennifer Crusie
Louisa May Alcott
The books in the new paragraph only include ones on my shelves here at school, and not any of the many others at home (though I did include books at home for the first list).
Finishing classes has me strangely pumped up. Whee! I think I will stay up much too late and probably watch way too much Buffy and possibly more Lord of the Rings. I've seen almost all my dvds too many times, so I'm mostly doing all the commentaries I never saw before. I'd seen the cast commentary on FotR, but then I just watched the director/cowriters one, too, and now I am listening to Joss Whedon talk about Welcome to the Hellmouth and the Harvest.
Also with the story finishing tonight. I'm so close I can almost taste it. Mmmm, first draft completion. It's better than ice cream.
I want to think of ways to make you all entertain me and serve my will, because I am selfish like that. But I'm apparently boring tonight, too, because nothing comes to mind as a prompt. Ah, well. Maybe later.
Edit: Ooh, after learning second conjugation verbs today, I can say my subject line in Russian! That's exciting. Я люблю книги!
Our professor was telling us today that she suspects the Russian word for "to love" (любить) is responsible for the country's low birthrate. Because, really, "Я люблю тебя" is one of the most unsexy combination of syllables you can come up with.
