*dies*

If you can't successfully create the golem, either you have made a slight mistake in pronounciation or you have not achieved the proper state of holiness.

I was just thinking that I really needed a golem and that it was pity I didn't know how.

The internet is awesome.

Also, how the hell did you find this site in the first place?

Oooh. You're even Jewish, too! So it's, like, authentic.

*cough*

Um. Maybe we can get the golem to be our chauffeur! He can drive us to see Ice Princess!

Well, it's the fourth site that comes up when you google "golems", dude. I didn't have to look hard.

Heee. We had a lecture about early modern Judaism yesterday -- the legend of the golem was one of the subjects we covered, so it's been in my head since. Feet of Clay was actually on the list I was making in my head of books I'd read dealing with it (along with Ted Chiang's "Seventy-Two Letters" and Kavalier and Clay).

I was going to ask you why the hell you were googling golems, but then I read the thread up there, so now I know.

I think a better question is why wouldn't I be googling golems.
