Heee. We had a lecture about early modern Judaism yesterday -- the legend of the golem was one of the subjects we covered, so it's been in my head since. Feet of Clay was actually on the list I was making in my head of books I'd read dealing with it (along with Ted Chiang's "Seventy-Two Letters" and Kavalier and Clay).
