Um.

[livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl and I just had a conversation where she mocked me for not knowing random factoids about Garrett Maggart.

And then she compared me to a retarded infant.

This was followed by me telling her about my brief Sentinel watching period, when I used to come online every time I finished one of [livejournal.com profile] mollita's tapes and poke [livejournal.com profile] liviapenn to answer all my questions.

[[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o: I would ask livia questions like "Is Blair really that short, or is everybody else just really tall?" And "Exactly how often does he get kidnapped and taken hostage?" And "Why did Jim just ride a thoroughbred out to the highway?" And "Um. Did blind Jim really just call crazed drugged up Blair down from the police car and clasp him to his manly bosom?"]

Finally, this conversation included me explaining to Tracey all the facts I learned in high school health class about how long after intercourse it takes for pregnancy to actually happen (answer: a while. the sperm has to get all the way up to the fallopian tube to get to the egg, and then the fertilized egg has to drift down to the uterus and actually attach itself, so all in all it takes a couple of days. or so the public education system has led to me to believe). This led directly to this horrible, horrible piece of rampant speculation on our part here:

[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: ...please shut me up soon.
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: *kills high school health class8
[livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl: *giggles*
[livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl: You're Fraser.
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: ...you know, if girl! Ray actually did get knocked up, god forbid? I could see Fraser explaining that to Ray.
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: Because Ray would be all "I knew it! I could feel it as soon as you came! Bam, baby. Right there."
[livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl: *giggles*!
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: And Fraser's like, blah blah sperm travel fallopian tube blah blah blah twelve to twenty four hours blah blah blah drift to uterus blah blah blah several days blah blah blah attach uterus wall blah blah blah.
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: and Ray's like "you gotta suck all the romance out of everything, fraser?
[livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl: *cracking up*
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: ...*cough*
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: Hi!
[livejournal.com profile] pearlo13: I'm not crazy!

...Yeah, I bet you all wish you were us right now. DON'T FIGHT IT.

I want girlRay to get knocked up so freaking bad. It's my subgenre kink of my gender-bending kink (what? I have have sub-categories of kinks!)

Hee. Subgenres are definitely cool -- that doesn't happen to be one of mine, but that's mostly because I'm impatient and bored by pregnancy.

not TMI, I hope

Approximately 36-48 hours after the first time we ever had sex without a net, I felt this weird PMS-like surge of hormones and told my husband, "I think we hit the jackpot already". "You're nuts!" he said, but I was right -- that was implantation tripping a bunch of switches. By the time a pregnancy test would register anything (2 weeks), I was absolutely certain. Before implantation, though, there would be nothing to feel.

Dude, I swear to God I thought the egg was released to the uterus at ovulation and impregnation (except in the case of fallopian pregnancies) happened there. I am a black mark on the record of my eight grade health teacher. I am hanging my head in shame right now.

Well, that's pretty much how they teach it to you in earlier health classes, isn't it? It's only later on that they go "well, except that we sort of lied to you to make it simpler -- really it works like this."

They always made it sound like the egg just drifted down gently every time you ovulated, too, instead of burst through and leaving through with hundreds of tiny tiny scars.

I cannot believe you told me that I don't get free range on crazy, and then did this.

I demand a recount.

See, but I knew better than to ask.
