Have any of you ever heard the word "cock" as slang for female genitalia and not male? A lot of the stories from a book of mid-century African-American narrative folklore I had to read for one of my Evergreen classes involved the reference -- which confused me a lot on first encountering it -- but that's the only place I've ever seen it.

I've never heard of it used as slang, but in forensics/medical they use the clock system to determine if a woman has been raped. They view the vagina as a clock and brusing at certain "times" can either show consentual or nonconsentual sex. Not sure if this helps or not.

No, but cock. The same exact word that's used incredibly widely as slang for male genitalia, is what I'm asking.

It rings a faint bell, in the context you describe, but I can't remember where I've come across it before. Possibly in one of the books I have on sexual terms, might've been "The Lover's Tongue".

Definitely heard that, usually in blues songs and stone-butch narratives.

I think I've heard it called the "little cock" or "immature penis" or something. Back in the day they didn't have names for female parts. They had several theories about women- that they were defective males... or incompletely formed males. That male was the only true gender. There were so many theories from so many different times and places, but, yes, I don't think they had a word for clit (and other female parts), instead they called it cock or penis or some other synonym.
