Have any of you ever heard the word "cock" as slang for female genitalia and not male? A lot of the stories from a book of mid-century African-American narrative folklore I had to read for one of my Evergreen classes involved the reference -- which confused me a lot on first encountering it -- but that's the only place I've ever seen it.

They had several theories about women- that they were defective males... or incompletely formed males. That male was the only true gender. There were so many theories from so many different times and places, but, yes, I don't think they had a word for clit (and other female parts), instead they called it cock or penis or some other synonym.
