Okay, so Ice Princess just came out on DVD on Tuesday, right? And tonight is the SECOND TIME since Tuesday that my sister and I have trekked all the way out to the video store only to be DENIED IN OUR QUEST. Seriously, I am not amused! Is there some kind of bizarre "crappy ice skating movie starring Buffy's little sister" craze SWEEPING THE NATION, and I was just not informed? I DISAPPROVE. People, it is a crappy, fluffy little movie that, like, five people care about. And [livejournal.com profile] fox1013 is two of those. This should not be this difficult!

HMMPH.

Good luck in your further questing. Someone has to watch that thing. When you finally get ahold of it, you're going to tell us all how horrid it is, right?

Dude, no! I saw it in the theaters with [livejournal.com profile] fox1013 -- that's why I want to see it again, to share the girly sparkly AWESOME crappiness with my sister! See this entry (http://www.livejournal.com/users/pearl_o/490231.html) from March.

Locked post, but in comparison to other girly sparkly movies, how bad is it? Because I love Princess Diaries 2 madly and IP looks much worse but has Michelle Trachtenberg in it, so if it is sufficiently dorky and manages to be a little bit cute sometimes, I would totally check it out.

Ha, I am sorry; I am stupid for not checking first. This is what I said about the movie then:

Last night we went to see Ice Princess, and it was just as awesome an experience as Fox had led me to believe. Fox was, like, shaking with joy the entire time. At one point we got cursed at by the, like, one other person in the entire theater for squeeing and commenting at each other through the whole thing. Which, whatever. Under ordinary circumstances, yes, talking in movies is a cardinal sin, but we basically did everything in our power to get to this point. I came 3000 miles to listen to Fox make snarky comments on Dawnie on Ice, goddammit; fuck off. (Also, I was judging that person anyway, just because what the hell was a forty-something year old man doing all alone at a ten pm Sunday showing of Ice Princess, anyway?)

The movie theater was also exciting because it showed exactly how freakishly sheltered I am. The whole time we were walking through the lobby, I was hissing at Fox in shock about how expensive everything was. Dude, I mean, I live out in the boondocks, basically, right? I have never paid over nine dollars for a movie ticket in my life. The matinee prices here were my usual full price ones. The soda machines were three dollars for a 20 oz bottle! *still scandalized*

Anyway, yes. The lesson here: I am very cheap. But Ice Princess was incredibly sparkly and girly and thus worth it.

So, your taste may vary, but I enjoyed it a lot.

I work at Blockbuster, actually, and our district leader has informed us rather bluntly that Blockbuster requested more copies that Disney refused to send because they wanted stores to be understocked so that people would be more likely to buy it.

So there you go.

Also... yeah. It is kind of crappy, but she looks really hot. :D

I dork out further by saying: since it's not guaranteed in stock, if you are going to your local Blockbuster, if you call ahead they can actually hold it under your name for an hour. (The guaranteed titles can't be held, because they're assumed to be much higher in demand, so it's first come first serve for those.)

Dude, Fox and I did too, when I was visiting in the spring! We saw it at, like, the 10pm Sunday night showing that weekend, and it was just us, Fox's friend who drove us, and a random middle aged guy who was all alone and who cussed at us for talking during it.

Dude, that is so not on. How can you be denied that movie? I loved that movie. My roommate was really really befuddled that I made her see it, but that movie is something that no one should be denied.
