I get the feeling a really large number of entries aren't showing up on my flist. I have no idea why this would be happening, but the last couple days when I go to people's individual ljs I find about half of them have recently posted entries that I have never seen! What the heck, yo? The whole point of a reading list is that I don't have to check 200 individual ljs; what if all the brilliant stuff is being posted and just hidden from me now?

I forget that I'm not logged in sometimes, and that means no FLocked posts... could be that..

Yeah, no, I'm definitely logged in. I see plenty of flocked posts, and not all the ones that I randomly don't see are flocked.

Do you have groups set up? I frequently find that even when I tell LJ to add new friends to certain groups it ignores me completely and then I go weeks or days wondering why I never see them post anything. It doesn't even add them to my default list, the one I always use.

Home > Manage > Friends > Edit Custom Friends Groups, then make sure they're all in your "default" or whatever group you tend to read.

Everyone on my flist is on my default view. And I'm getting most entries from individual people, just not all of them; I'll look at someone's livejournal I will have seen four out of the last five entries, and there will be one I missed entirely.

Reading comprehension?

Maybe it's just you. ;)

Sigh. That could be, too. Maybe I did read them all, and just FORGOT.

Hmm. Is it possible that they're back-dating the entries? Other than that, if you're sure you're checking your flist all the time :::pets own cracktastic flist::::, I can't think of another explanation.

Obviously, the explanation is that LJ is being retarded. That was the explanation I was assumign when I posted, anyway.

Maybe they are backdating posts?

I suppose that's possibly, but it seems unlikely that everybody's decided to do that at the same time.

That's happening for me today, too. I'm logged in and everything, but for some reason a couple of entries just blipped out of existence and then re-appeared a while later (one of my own entries among them). LJ weirdness, I guess.

*shakes fist with you* I think it's just being weird to screw with our heads.

Are you online 24/7? Because if you're not (and I come close to being online that much, so I know whereof I speak *g*), you're going to miss things if you have more than, say, fifty people on your f'list, which you totally do. What happens sometime, due to the fact that we're all in different timezones and our computers are set differently, is that when you hit refresh, new entries end up *below* entires you've already seen. So...you'll hit three familiar posts, say to yourself "ah, okay...I'm done" and you'll have missed a few that were actually posted after the ones you saw.

Funny you should say that, I seem to be having that problem too. I think I didn't get [livejournal.com profile] shrewreader's last fic post, and only found out about it when I saw her noticeboard post. *sigh*

Pearl, I checked on the support page, and it suggests clearing your cache and that seems to have worked for me, or at least, I can now see the entries that I knew weren't there.

If you clear cache (or delete temporary internet files, depending on your browser), that will almost always clear up this problem.
