i have a soul!
8/9/05 16:40I have now finished watching all of the second season of Slings & Arrows, and I have absolutely nothing more intelligent in my head than BLIND SQUEE.
Well, except for the fact that the Oliver/Geoffrey subtext was even increased upon here. And that college-era Darren/Geoffrey could totally have somewhere to build from now. And that I really don't get why all of dS fandom seems to think Martha Burns is a total hag, because I think she's quite pretty, in an unusual and quite striking way.

9/9/05 00:10 (UTC)As for the Oliver/Geoffrey subtext, could you elaborate? I don't have my copy of the second season yet, and I don't mind spoilers.

"Sub"text? What is this "sub" of which you speak? It was fully textual by the end of the *first* season (if rather completely one-sided--because Oliver had to actually come out and *tell* Geoffrey that he [Oliver] had "issues" with him [Geoffrey]--but STILL).

*snicker* I thought the exact same thing. ;)
I am appalled at the notion that Martha Burns is not good-looking.

9/9/05 02:24 (UTC)Oliver was so very much in love with Geoffrey ....
sigh.

9/9/05 02:26 (UTC)(Although the Lionel/Anna subplot totally didn't get resolved at all. Seeing them at the bar and then having sex at the end doesn't tell us anything!

Heeeee, this is true! Although I suppose if you were trying really HARD you could interpret Oliver's speech there as only having to do with artist talent and being nonsexual, except that is stupid given how the entire show is partly about how they all meld together.

"I think of my Grandmother. [...] Mint?"

Yeah, that was a bit of a WTF, and I'm seriously hoping they explore these two more next season, if only so I can see Anna dump his ass. Mark McKinney said in an interview that this season ended up with way too much story for just six episodes, and it's non-resolutions like Anna/Lionel that really make that obvious.
