Fraser: No, it was a miscalculation, and I haven't made a miscalculation since....

Vecchio: Since when?

Fraser: Well, since the last time you shot me. I'm just grateful you had the presence of mind to shoot me again.

--Dialogue from "The Edge", transcript from here

Um, possibly I am alone in this, but does anybody else tend to find that exchange totally bizarre every time they watch this episode? Off the top of my head, I can't think of another instance of either of them making reference to Victoria's Secret during season two, for one thing. And for another -- man, the way Fraser says that line, it's like it could be anything at all. His last miscalculation could have been forgetting to bring an umbrella on a day when it was likely to rain, or accidentally putting his favorite sweater in the drier.

And what WAS the miscalculation? Getting on the train with her? Or trying to pull her off the train? Or... getting in the way of the bullet?

...just doing my part to spread confusion and dismay in the due South universe...
