fox1013 and I just spent, like, an hour reading Christmas episode spoilers, reading the awesome writers' blog, and the less-awesome-but-still-amusing fictional blogs at Seattle Grace Gossip and Emerald City Bar. And then we went to the main show website and looked at Shonda Rhimes' Q+A (<3<3<3) and then the character bios.
Which, okay, some of the character bio stuff is boring or just completely lame. But the awesome stuff? IS SO AWESOME OMG.
Case in point: the letter in George's file.
Exact wording, typed by me from the website:

Dean of the School of Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University
Dear Richard,
I am writing on behalf of George O'Malley, a candidate for your surgical residency program. At first glance, his grades may not be as competitive as your other candidates, but I assure you his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. Over the last four years, I've seen George display a number of skills that I feel are lacking in modern medicine. In fact, just last month, George exhibited the single greatest act of medical compassion I've ever seen from a student. I will spare you the details, but suffice to say, I've never seen such extraordinary efforts to save a kitten's life. Though the kitten died anyway, it just warms my heart. And that is why I feel like George would not just be a wonderful addition to your program, but also the field of medicine in its entirety.

"No! Seriously! Am I not hot? I think I'm hot. I have good breasts!" Izzie points and then immediately feels mortified.
"You are hot," says George agreeably. He doesn't seem to notice her embarrassment. "Your breasts are very nice and you're really smart."
It's maybe the nicest thing anyone's ever said to her, because George doesn't say it like he's surprised or like it's an afterthought or like he's being nice. George says she's smart like it's this known quantity, like it's her breasts and it's right there and totally unignorable.
Right this second, Izzie really, really loves George. He says nice things to her and he buys her tampons and he says horrible things about Alex's manhood. George is the *best*.
