There is something about working on finals in the middle of the night that calls for COOKIES.

Unfortunately, there are no cookies in my house.

(That was a very anticlimactic story.)

In the new Pride & Prejudice movie, the scene at the end with Elizabeth and Mr. Bennet about her marrying Darcy read really weird me. Like, uncomfortable? And kind of ... incest-y, in a really odd way? Except then it made me think less about Elizabeth and Mr. Bennet than of really bizarre and wrong Keira Knightley and Donald Sutherland RPF. SO THERE WAS THAT.

Hi, my head is a scary place, and if it weren't 1 in the morning or if I had cookies, I probably wouldn't have shared. Don't you wish I had cookies now?

My AIM wimped out during Grey's tonight, so I missed h8r-chat. What the hell, yo? I only need you one hour a week! That's it! It was SERIOUSLY WEAK.

The episode was still great, though. IZZIE! I keep thinking I can't love her more? And, uh, then I do! Also, I think that ending is pretty much untoppable, because it was the BEST EVER.

Also, Sandra Oh is still super smoking hot.

Ahahahahahaha. YES THANK YOU FOR THAT.

(Also, Karen Allen is totally hot. Now I want to rewatch Raiders of the Lost Ark.)

(Also also, I would not be surprised if I dreamed of RPF dreams where both Donald Sutherland and Keira Knightley were DINOSAURS.)

Animal House = Our school. You know that right? The actors used to eat at Taylor's all the time while they were filming at the Frat Houses.

I did know that! I think we actually had a conversation about it last year! Because, like, I used to live right across from the field where they did the scenes with the mud and the horses and everything.

Just making sure! I tell everyone that my dad was a member of one of the Frats (not the Animal House, but the other one), so I assumed I'd told you. But I never hesitate to repeat myself.

I have never actually seen the movie though. It's a sin, I know.

It is an awesome movie. I went to the 25th Anniversary toga party in Cottage Grove in '03. That was EPIC.

*laughs* Niiiice. I remember seeing the posters for the Cottage Grove Toga Party sometime earlier this year and being amused and vaguely tempted to go.

*uses her toga icon*

TOOOOGAAAA! TOOOOGAAAA!

(seriously, though, Animal House? One of my all-time favorite movies. I can [and have!] watch it three times in a row and laugh harder each successive time. I requested it for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. FLIPPIN' LOVE!)

Suddenly, I am tempted to wear a toga to my latin final on Tuesday.

(I really, really need to see it. Maybe I'll make it a goal for Winter Break)

OMG DO IT. Both the toga and the viewing. I wish my school offered Latin!

Yeah, but your school is, like, Shakespearey! That's also cool.

TRUE DAT, my friend. Which makes it rather weird that it doesn't offer Latin, come to think of it.

Hahahaha. I get vaguely happy everytime I see you talking about your school on my flist, just because Ashland is apparently DIRECTLY CONNECTED in my mind with the best part of my high experience, i.e. the drama club trips to OSF in the summer. Woot!

YES! Okay, yes, I went down with my drama group too, and the thing that is so great about it is that you know that special shiny literate vacation Shakespeare theater heaven-on-earth vibe? THAT DOESN'T GO AWAY ONCE YOU LIVE HERE. I love my town SO MUCH. Sometimes when I'm walking home from plays late at night I dance down the street.

I honestly don't think we have any white sheets in the house.

I love latin in the way that most latin students love latin. Disfunctionally. I love it, it hates me. I hate that it hates me, but want to understand it so our relationship can improve and blossom into me translating dirty poetry with ease and translate random phrases into latin on the fly.

It's so...geeky! And really, really helps me understand English better, what little I know of it. (What little I know of Latin. Hopefully I know more than a little of English. :P)

Latin is the epitome of Geeky. It seriously, seriously is. Because what is more geeky than learning a complicated and weird language that is DEAD and honestly totally useless in real life?

Latin is like... the Klingon of real languages. I mean, yeah, it's a little more useful with the helping with the English, but really? Mostly just like geekiness. Knowing all the names of all the Pokemon is really kind of on par.

5/12/05 10:23 (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] kerrypolka.livejournal.com
HAHAHA YES! EXACTLY! It only helps you understand things that are even more geeky, like old poetry or Roman graffiti. It's so useless and esoteric AND YET!

AND YET so impressive.

Someday I will be able to pose and be all "Ha ha, yes, I speak latin."

Or rather: "Ha ha, sic, possum loqui latine!"

Your icon makes me want to well "SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!" at inappropriate times.

Also, now I want to watch Animal House. Which, uh, indicates it is the time of night when EVERYTHING sounds like more fun than finishing the last paragraph of my paper!

ah yes. THAT TIME OF NIGHT. Here is what I recommend:

1. Paper
2. GATOR!

(besides, the conclusion is totally the easiest part of the paper. That and Body Paragraph #3-5 when you're really in the body paragraph groove.)

Hee. It's not really a paper, though, it's a linguistic analysis? And I actually have the end done. I just have to go back and fill in the boring part I skipped earlier.

Actually they are symbolic dinosaurs, which are sadly not QUITE as fun. (Well, a different kind of fun! ...right?) But OMG ZOMBIE DINOSAURS? ZOMBIE VAMPIRE DINOSAURS?

hi. I will be over here with my coloring book.

Symbolic dinosaurs are TOTALLY also fun!

I wish I had a coloring book. I bet that would be more fun than constituent structure.

You could, like, draw a constituent! And then color it! That would also be fun!
