Wow, the last two hundred pages of The Game of Kings are approximately eight bazillion times less boring than the first 350. Good to know! I have to say, though, any time something is set up with the structure "Here is our main character, who is the biggest bastard in the history of bastardy! Look what a humungous asshole he is! LOOK! ...Wait, here in the last fifty pages/twenty minutes we explain how that was all a fakeout and he is really a good guy."? I AM GOING TO THINK THAT IS MASSIVELY LAME AND WEAK.

WHATEVER, history of storytelling! I reject your tropes!

Tonight I am going to write my [livejournal.com profile] ds_seekritsanta. No, FOR REALS. I have an idea and everything! It is like crazy town here.

GOD BLESS YOU.

Hahahaha, I WIN YOU LOSE.

...Except in the way where you gave up and thus didn't waste the additional hours of your life to get to the less-boring parts, but. Whatever!

...I was totally confused by this post until I realized you weren't talking about A Game of Thrones.

I have never read A Game of Thrones, so I have no frame of reference on whether that is amusing or not!

Probably much more to me than to you. *g*

It's long and takes a while to get going, so I was with you there, but the main-est character (of many) is set up as a pillar of nobility and integrity and stays that way throughout, so that part made my brain hurt.
