Here is one of the interesting things about reading books out of order: when I have already read the romance novel where Character-Man is the lead male hero guy with all that curtails, it means that when I first meet him as a secondary character in the book that comes first, I am very very unlikely to believe he is a eunuch.

Dude, I never believe a guy's a eunuch unless the author actually shows the procedure.

Okay, that sounded ::handwavy:: more sane and less fucked up in my head. But really, it's just that I read way too many mysteries and ::flails:: I'm going to stop now -- I think writing badfic for [livejournal.com profile] svmadelyn has done something to me.

I hate to find out that there are books that pre-date the one I'm reading. Which is why I end up not reading it--or in the case that I've already started it, finish the thing--before I get the first.

Ha! I think I read those Kinsale books in the same order you did!
