Given that the fandom has such a fondness for pairing together any and every Paul Gross character and any and every Callum Keith Rennie character, I am honestly surprised there is no Fraser/Newbie slash out there in the world.

*amuses self with mental images*

I'm also sort of surprised there aren't more stories slashing Fraser (even unrequited) with the five bazillion substitute father figures he picks up during the series. Gerrard, Buck Frobisher, Quinn, Welsh, etc, etc, etc.

Watching "Some Like It Red" again reminded me how I still want to write little lesbian Catholic schoolgirl fic someday. Season 2 in general is kind of weird to watch sometimes, because it almost gives me whiplash to see how much a) HOTTER and b) MORE INTERESTING Thatcher was then, compared with the RayK years. Not to mention how much more appealing the Thatcher/Fraser was then (on the TRAIN, they were so CUTE, I'm serious!).

In the imaginary twisted version of fandom that lives in my brain, there is fic for all these pairings. Not to mention Buck/Caroline/Bob, and Irene Zuko/Ray Vecchio, and hetcest, and Frannie paired with basically every guy possible, and more Wilby Wonderful crossovers, and Ray Vecchio/Stella, and maybe Fraser het with every female guest star ever.

(This would all be among the F/K porn, of course. Like flavorings! Herbs and spices! Heh.)

Fraser/Newbie.

...okay. so you know when your computer sort of freezes for a few seconds when it's opening a file that's too big for it to handle all at once? Yeah. That's me. Stuck. Because. Yes. That is just too entirely hot, because all of Fraser's bizarre eccentricities that you can so not just chalk up to Canadian weirdness, Newbie would just take *completely* in stride, and Fraser would - he'd just - just - god, you know, there would so be fucking, and the mere thought of the DIALOUGE in this fic is making my HEAD EXPLODE THANKS.

Okay, whatever, you know Fraser is maladjusted and has weird hero worship fixation things going on! It's practically canon!

Anyway.

YAY FOR STUCK. Hee. You know, YOU could probably write it, right? RIGHT? You do a really good Newbie!

At the very least, you should get onto yahoo sometime when I am on so we can gossip.

Agh...! Ew. I would like to see Welsh/Thatcher, though. *facepalm*

It was so there.

I agree with this 100%, man. I actually shipped Fraser/Thatcher in season 2, and although she was perhaps...kinder? to a degree in season 3, I lost all interest in the two of them as a potential couple.

(This would all be among the F/K porn, of course. Like flavorings! Herbs and spices! Heh.)

LOL... yeah, I really enjoyed the RayV/Stella that was in Speranza's "Kowalski Is Bleeding"... it'd be nice to see more like that.

Thatcher herself just kind of bores me in season 3; she just seems to lose all interesting nuances as a character. Sad!

RayV/Stella actually makes me bizarrely happy, and I can't really pinpoint why. It just works.

Ahh your icon is so cute!

I agree about Thatcher, really, I wish season 3 was more like seasons 1 and 2 in a few ways...

RayV/Stella actually makes me bizarrely happy, and I can't really pinpoint why. It just works.

Same here! Which confused me, because I couldn't stand Stella, and then I saw CotW I was like, awww why are they so sweet together?

Like, that whole thing where she is a girl!Mountie and all the boy!Mounties hit on her and she finds it necessary to deflect and Fraser knows EXACTLY what she is talking about, and there was sympatheticness that was REALLY REALLY CUTE given the circumstances? In We Are the Eggmen? WHERE did this problem go? It just kind of disappeared! It was just like, "Oh, Thatcher is basically a boy!Mountie, never mind."

I would SO read Fraser/Quinn. Preferably with Fraser as a very young man, maybe 18 or 19. Mentor kink? Oh, yeah!

Fraser/Newbie. Um. Wow. Yes please. And just think about what Newbie could do with his long fingers. :)

Also, I am totally with you on Frannie-paired-with-every-guy-possible.

I'm all for more Fraser/RayK porn, but I don't do het, so the other stuff is a big ewwie, no thank you kindly. I would, however, love to read Fraser/Quinn. I could see that in a heartbeat, Fraser losing his virginity to a guy like Quinn.

Thatcher is so great in S2. And then in S3, it's just gone. I really liked the Fraser/Thatcher dynamic and everything on the train was just amazing.

The scene where they're handcuffed around each other and he pulls out her hairpin? Guh. So hot.
