I have a weird and completely unsupported theory that Benton Fraser is prone to use the word "prick" when using vulgar slang for penis, rather than the more common "cock" alternative.

You know? If due South did have pairing portmanteaus? They would be FRAY and RAZOR. That is kind of the best thing ever.

I have been rereading Dinosaur Comics all week because of [livejournal.com profile] moireach and [livejournal.com profile] annakovsky. DAMN THEM. Also, uh, last night in Kovsky's journal I seem to have written a CKR/T-Rex crossover. Uh, apparently they have poker nights together where they gossip about how much they like Kovsky! And then they get drunk and make out and play scrabble! Who knew?

...Don't judge me, OKAY?

Also, [livejournal.com profile] rayk97s is still open for sign-ups! You should all consider coming and playing and having lots of fun with us all! [livejournal.com profile] minervacat and I will smile upon you and think you're nifty-cool. (If you're not signing up because you don't know the music, you can email either of us and we can arrange to take care of that!)

Ideas which I had during my insomnia last night that I am never going to write:
a) Wilby femslash Sandra/Carol
b) AU where Muldoon killed Bob and not Caroline

Discuss.

a) hey! that should happen during the zombie invasion that [livejournal.com profile] glossing suggested in comments oh so long ago, but which i still think is a great idea.

or maybe just -everything- should have zombies.

Unless the portmanteaus were all about the first names, in which case:

Fraser/Ray = Benty!
Fraser/Welsh = Bending!
Fraser/Maggie/Ray (threesome) = Ben-Gay!

I was *just* thinking about the usage of prick vs. in a DS story I was reading. I personally am more comfortable with 'cock', but you're right, I'm not sure if Fraser would be.

Are you sure CKR isn't the man at the source of Utahraptor's "guy troubles"?

Heeeeee. I have no idea how that would work with zombies, but I trust your instincts!

It never stops making me happy that Fraser's first name can be shortened to "Bent." It's just so beautifully appropriate.

I feel very strongly about this, for no real reason! I think cock is more familiar and common -- uh, especially since we read porn all the freaking time -- so prick has a kind of old-fashioned/unfamiliar/foreign quality to it that makes it seem more Fraser-ish to me.

I am also not opposed to him thinking 'erection'.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks about this kind of thing!

Oh, erection definitely works! That's more common, even, I think, because it's still slightly euphemistic. The others are much more in your face.

Heeee. I think you are FAR from the only one who thinks about these things!

Heh. "In your face."

And it comforts me to know that there are other people out there thinking about Fraser's relationship with the word 'erection'.

Hey, I didn't know the music, and I still signed up. It might just produce a slightly hinky(er) interpretation.

Dude, that's not hinky -- that's totally just as valid as the other way! I just know there are some people who really need both.

There's Fraser's relationship with the word 'erection' and then there's Fraser's relationship with Ray's erection.

Both are interesting in their own way.

And let us not neglect Fraser's confused, complex, and tormented relationship with his *own* erection.

Not that I think he has much of a hands-on relationship, as it were. I don't see him extrapolating his unspoken desires for Ray to such actions.

I am not entirely certain I agree! I think a definite argument can be made for Fraser having a relatively active masturbatory habit. It's only healthy, you know. (Although he probably does refrain from sexual fantasies about his coworkers and friends. Spoilsport.)

Honestly, I can see it both ways. I have a certain affection for self-denial!Fraser, but also for longing-for-Ray's-touch!Fraser.

And most of the time I think that if he did happen to think of Ray while engaged in such activity, he'd feel *very* guilty about it afterwards.
