I ... appear to have written something that could be categorized as SGA fic. Um. If I'm going to have disgusting insomnia and be unable to do anything but write weird snippets, I would at least think they would be in my fandoms. Weird. I am not sure what to think.

For a couple of seconds, there was silence, and then Sheppard said, "Okay, that was weird."

"Weird?" Rodney repeated, somewhat affronted. "What's that supposed to mean? No one's ever had cause to complain about my technique before, Colonel. As a matter of fact -- funny story -- back in grade eleven with Janie Swanson--"

"McKay," said Sheppard, and Rodney snapped out of his slightly dreamy-eyed state of recollection.

"Right. Yes. What?"

"I'm not saying anything about your technique, all right? You just took me by surprise, that's all." Sheppard paused, scratching the back of his neck with one hand.

Rodney waited another second. "Well?"

"I'm thinking!" Sheppard said.

Rodney huffed out a sigh, and Sheppard narrowed his eyes at him.

"Look, I'm sure you're an attractive guy and everything, but I wouldn't know, I'm just. I'm not into that, all right?"

"Into that?" Rodney crossed his arms. "Would that be the that of 'kissing' or the that of 'standing around talking awkwardly about it like idiots afterward'?"

"I was thinking more the part where you're a guy, actually, but now that you mention it..."

"Oh, please," Rodney sneered.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sheppard said.

"Look, if I had known you were going to do this the hard way, Colonel, I wouldn't have kissed you in the first place. Get back to me once you've gotten over all your tedious sexual identity issues, all right?"

Sheppard appeared to be biting his lip. He said, in a strained voice, "Rodney. Is there any chance you were recently hit on the head? Maybe by something really hard?"

"Oh, don't condescend to me," Rodney said, finally disgusted. "I'm much better at it than you."

A split-second later, Rodney decided that was probably the best exit line he was going to get out of this melodrama, and he headed for the door in his most dignified manner. He remembered something immediately as he reached the hall, though, and he popped his head back in the room, where Sheppard still stood in the same position.

"And, please," said Rodney, "if you're going to go the slut route of self-discovery -- which I don't recommend, but we all know how you love a good cliche -- do me a favor and get that over with first, will you? Oh," he added, "and in that scenario, might I suggest you look in on Ronon? He's very ... athletic. Quite an, uh, workout," Rodney finished, smiling slightly.

Sheppard was staring at him with an expression that could have been either horrified or awestruck. Rodney waited a little bit, but when it became obvious no response was forthcoming, he cleared his throat.

"In that case, then, uh. I'll just be going. Yes." He nodded at Sheppard once, turned on his heel, and fled the room again.
