I finished episode 17 last night in my first season Alias marathon, so I have a couple more thoughts. Yay thoughts!

1. I have given myself over entirely to the Cult of Jack Bristow.

2. The scene in "The Box Part II" with Sloane telling Jack to cut off his finger, and then Jack doing it? OMG SO AWESOME HARDCORE.

3. The Rambaldi sketch really doesn't look like Jennifer Garner, like at all. I only figured out it was supposed to be her by everyone's weird reactions.

4. Sloane and Jack having conversations with the subtext of "No, I'm a better daddy to Sydney!!!" is really uncomfortably sexual/incestuous. Cool.

5. I continue to not really carry about Vaughn, but wow, in some shots, it's really obvious how very pretty a man Michael Vartan is. Like, especially when guys are shoving him up against vans and walls and stuff. Yes.

6. JAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

I think it's actually Okay to have some level of care about Vaughn (in a way which admits that he is not the brightest bulb in the display) and even about S/V up until halfway through S3. And then at certain select moments later. You don't always have to listen to the haters! The main canonical het pairing of anything is just such an easy target that part of me goes all, "Stop shooting fish in the barrel and just enjoy the damned show!"

Hee. Actually, you know, I don't have anything against Vaughn. And the Sydney/Vaughn interactions can even be cute at time. I'm just not really interested. It's like the plot! I'm like, okay, this is fine, but where are the wigs and the explosions and JACK and more cool stuff!?

For me, without spoiling anything, S/V is at its best when it gets increasingly tangled into the wigs and the explosions and stuff -- it is definitely better when the relationship is incorporated into the show's predominant themes and metaphors. Also, I love Syd, unabashedly, so part of my varying levels of affection for Vaughn and S/V are that I like her to have her miniscule amounts of happiness.

Aww. I promise to keep an open mind! Just like I promised to keep an open mind about Will after he was really boring for most of the season!

Also, your icon is the most adorable thing ever.

(Also, I have to say, I'm finishing 2x06 right now, and ever since the s1 finale they've had a bunch of consistently adorable moments. Cool.

Also also, this was the episode your icon came from. SQUEE.)

Yup! They can be awfully adorable -- and although there are issues later on (some of which is no one's fault, really, because of the off-screen break-up), I STILL care.

Oh, S2. I started rewatching the pilot, and now I am thinking about getting there. Oh, god. S2's just so good! I am so excited for you!

I wonder how many times I can watch the show through before it gets stale. Probably INFINITY.
