Earlier tonight, my sister and I were watching some dvds of a TV show. The hero of the show is brave, smart, incredibly handsome, and nigh on irresistible to women. His mom died when he was really young. His dad was an officer of the law, a particularly famous and honored one, and wasn't around much in the hero's childhood, because he was busy pursuing criminals all over a wild and largely unpopulated tract of the continent. But then, when the hero is grown, his celebrated father is murdered, oh noes! So of course all the hero can do next is follow the trail of the killers of his father, right? Luckily he is accompanied in this quest by his incredibly intelligent animal companion, with whom he carries on conversations no one else can understand. And of course, partway through the first season his dead father's ghost shows up, only visible to him, and helps him with one of his cases through vague unhelpful platitudes.

The show I am talking about is, of course, the Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

I am in a foul mood, so you should all comment and tell me something. Tell me something you love about fandom! Or about me! Or the really good meal you just had! Or a picture of someone pretty! You get the idea.

Wow.

Maybe in the future, I should just COMPLETELY stop sleeping? Would that help for you?

Noes! Sleep is important! It is item number one in my guide to the proper caring and feeding of Foxes!

*worries*

For future reference, I love you because you are AWESOME.

In case you were wondering.

Today I bought The Sum of Us (young gay Russell Crowe!) and Stage Beauty (pretty pretty genderfuck!). \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

Also, you're making me want to watch some old show I've never even heard of, by associating it in my head with something bright and shiny. Stop it! :)

Adventures of Brisco County, Jr---that's the one with Q from Star Trek playing some writer/inventor right?

And after looking on the wiki it seems my brain made that up.

I think it only lasted three episodes. John De Lancie, Q from Star Trek as a inventor based on Nikola Tesla, and Richard Dean Anderson, O'Neill from Stargate SG-1, as a dime novelist who ends up impersonating his cowboy hero character.

You know, I could have sworn you were talking about DS.

Which is going to make me associate a different show with ds, which is going to make me rent/watch/find copyright violations of this other show you were talking about...

Hi there! I friended you (a while ago) cause you're very funny and we like a lot of the same fandoms.

I love that fandom encompases so many people, with so many different opinions. And I love that fandom produces fic/meta/art/fanmixes for me to consume.

For dinner I had grilled chicken, fried green tomatos, aspargus, snow flake rolls, sweet corn, tomatos and mozarella... basically, my mom outdid herself. I wish I could eat homemad food all the time.

Anyways, sorry I'm such a rando, but you seem really cool ;)

There some BCJr. stuff on youtube (I went looking after your post sparked it up for me again)

I liked this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=aW0-CGiEZpc&mode=related&search=

Also, watching any of the Bruce Campbell live on stage stuff is very cheering. Like this bit: http://youtube.com/watch?v=UUSLOAK0Irk

I had chicken fingers for dinner. With barbecue sauce. Granted, they were homemade, but I ALWAYS eat complete meals. They were really, really good.

I just ate the yummiest crumb cake from Au Bon Pain. They run out regularly, but I managed to snag a fresh piece today. SO GOOD. Seriously, it's going to be the highlight of my day, and I already know this, and I've only been at work for twenty minutes. A winner is me.

--That's actually a hard question. I adore it, but I'm not sure "good" is a word I would use to describe it. It's like a giant B-movie, glorious and cheesy and full of puns and anachronisms and innuendo and almost-but-not-quite-over-the-topness, you know? It's awesome.
