Five Things George Doesn't Like About Meredith

1. She's really self-centered. Everything's always about her.

2. She's just so depressed all the time. Which, yeah, she's had a hard time, but she seems to just wallow in it sometimes. If you're that unhappy for that long, maybe you need to just do something about it.

3. She always drinks the last of the coffee in the pot and never makes more or cleans after herself.

4. The loud sex. Letting your roommates sleep is important.

5. She's never felt the same way about him that he does about her, and she's never going to.

Five Reasons Ray Never Got a New Car

1. When they finally finished the GTO and Dad put the keys into his hands, he didn't say that he was proud of Ray, but Ray could tell he was thinking it.

2. They had gone to a drive-in movie, and Ray had driven Stella home, parked on the curb down by her folks' house. That's when he asked her to marry him.

3. By the time his folks moved to Arizona, Stella was doing pretty damn well for herself. If his car was gone forever, then Ray might as well get used to the fancy personality-free sedans Stella liked.

4. There was no point having a nice car undercover, either; he'd go with whatever worked for the assignment.

5. His mom hugged him close and his dad shook his hand and they were back in his life all of a sudden. Every weekend Ray went out to Skokie and his mom made dinner and he and his dad stood outside over the car.

1. You know I've always been a supporter of women's lib. Hope is a strong, independent woman. She doesn't need a man to save her.

2. That's easy. TV sets are replaceable. It's not like we're talking about my tapes or something.

These are excellent! I particularly like the one about George, because it's rather telling how 5 colours everything else he thinks about her. And the last one of Ray's, which makes me a little wet around the eyes, much as the reunion with his parents on the show does.

If you want to do more, I'd love one about Addison. Five times Addison has been lonely.

1. She got home from surgery -- she hadn't slept for days, and all she wanted was a nice cup of chamomile tea and their warm bed. But Derek wasn't there, and she had just come from the hospital, so she knew he wasn't there, either, and she couldn't sleep, could only sit in the living room and worry for hours until he came home and blinked at her in surprise and said he'd gone out with his buddy Jack.

2. She was a bridesmaid at Derek's oldest niece's wedding. Seven of his other nieces and four of his sisters all stuffed into a tiny room watching Ashley model her bridesmaid dress, and not one of them had ever had a conversation with Addison about anything more substantial than the nice weather they'd been having.

3. Mark told her he loved her, and she believed him -- and he was there, he paid attention to her, he saw her, which was something Derek hadn't done in years.

4. Lying next to Derek in bed in the trailer, she felt further away from him than she did when there was a continent between them.

5. At the prom, she gets another glass of punch and looks around for Derek. He's gone, suddenly and unexpectedly. She can't find him anywhere.

These are excellent - particularly the second one makes me *hurt* for Addison. And 5. is just. Well. It's so Derek to do something like that. Poor Addison.

1. His grandparents were librarians; Fraser grew up surrounded by books. It only made sense that in the end he chose to go into the family business and continue their legacy.

2. He goes to college to qualify as a teacher, and comes back to a small community in the NWT, where he's one of two people responsible for the education of the community. It's hard work, but rewarding.

3. There's a regrettable shortage of doctors in the far north. In the town where he lives, he's the only medical help within several dozen kilometers.

4. He joins the military, deciding the best way to serve his country is honorably, through the armed forces.
