My thoughts on Supernatural 2x04 are few, mostly because I can't get over the fact that that was totally NOT Summer Glau, omg, IMDB and the entire internet are LIARS. I was looking forward to her, too!
i kept hearing that summer glau was supposed to be in it, but not until after watching the episode. so i thought, "does she look so different? reconstructive surgery, what?" imdb even says it, like you mentioned, and i downloaded screen caps, double checked, and have claimed IMDB idiots for mentioning that the actress was summer glau.
the facial structure is totally wrong.
maybe initially she was going to play angela, then had to pull out, but that's still plenty of time to correct the information.
I'm pretty sure it was an actress called Tamara Feldman -- she had it listed on her imdb page when I checked twenty minutes ago, but it's gone now. Uh, okay.
