so, hard candy!

Last night fox1013 and I watched Hard Candy, synchronized over AIM, and, um. I am just as horribly traumatized as I was expecting to be, thank you! I'm seriously kind of amazed by just how creepy and disturbing that movie is. Fox and I spent 90% of the movie IM-ing each other about how dirty we felt and how disturbed we were. Not even the horribly self-consciously artsy direction could distract me from it!

I probably will be able to put the trauma out of my brain -- I'm pretty good at that -- but two things I think will stick with me:

a) Ellen Page is a fucking amazing actress. My god.

b) Fox and I each came independently to the conclusion that late in the movie, the tortured pedophile character started to kind of eerily resemble GOB Bluth. Eep?

I felt the same way when I watched this movie. Then I watched the audio commentary with Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page - it made it even creepier, if that's possible.
