Hi, so I decided to do that thing that's going around where you talk about what your favorite five of your own stories are. Which, um, the answers turned out kind of way different than I expected! Weird!

1. Love in the Bushes (Like There Was No Tomorrow) -- my Twitch City "Planet of the Cats" AU. This is actually the last story I posted, so my opinions might well change a lot as time goes by, but at this point I am still totally in love with this. I love the idea, I loved writing it, I think there's a lot of things in it that are a lot less lazy than I sometimes write, and I still find it hilarious.

2. Untitled snippet about Arctic exploration history -- yes, this tiny throwaway post is possibly my favorite thing I have ever written in dS fandom. I ... the subject line says it all, okay? Also, again, it still cracks me up.

3. Merry Bells Keep Ringing. Schmoopy established relationship holiday themed kidfic where Ray and Fraser are both really old dudes. There's so many things wrong with that description I don't know where to start. But I really do like my self indulgent kidfic universe, and this is the best thing in it.

4. Sandwich as Aphrodisiac. Everwood, Bright/Ephram, early season 2. You guys, this one is almost like a REAL STORY and everything! I'm serious! It's awesome! Also, I enjoy both extended food metaphors and comic books.

5. Academies. Firefly, gen, River, 5 things. The only Firefly story I'm totally satisfied with -- I'm fascinated by all the possibilities in here, sparkling under the surface. Of course, there's no crazy space incest, but I guess it can't be everything at once.

I really love Academies. It's a perfect interpretation of what the Five Things format is about, and in the MedAcad one, Simon's bitterness is just...wow. Ouch.

Man, that is really my favorite part of the story, because I can see it so clearly, and it makes my heart hurt. Sigh.
