Work left to do this quarter: two projects due by the end of the week, in-class final phonetics exam Monday at 8am, sociolinguistics take home final due by 4pm Tuesday, syntax take home final due by Wednesday noon.

That is totally doable. I will get through it, and then this quarter will be OVER, and then I have a week of vacation to hang around my house before I head off to Boston and Fox1013 and Muskrat Jamboree.

Hmmmm. Time for a new topic of discussion. How about the brown uniform? Fraser only wears it once in the RayK seasons, you know, but that just means we're free to imagine other times.















It feels somehow even more intimate than his civilian clothes sometimes, I think. It's one of the magical things about Fraser, in general, though, how the smallest hints of unbuttoning or glimpses of skins make him seem almost *naked*. Those last two pictures! With his button undone and his tie missing? Oh my good GOD.

But, oh, the brown uniform. The suspenders. The way he rolls up his sleeves and shows you his forearms. His little *nametag*. The way it emphasizes the wideness of his shoulders and the narrowness of his waist.

So, okay! Come on, people. I welcome both more pictures of Fraser looking hot in the brown uniform (I am missing all my old saved caps, sadly!), but also, even more importantly, speculation on RayK + the brown uniform. I've said to people before how one of the pleasures of Fraser pov is the fact that Fraser's eye for detail means he's quite likely to notice every single little detail of Ray's body, just the same way we fangirls do. He pays attention. Ray may not notice every little fetishizing detail the way we do, but he's not *blind*, either, right?

Right now the image in my mind is Ray and Fraser standing together, with Fraser absolutely still. They're close enough to kiss, but they're aren't doing so. The only place they;re touching is where Ray's fingers are brushing against Fraser's shirt front, watching himself unbutton each hole slowly slowly slowly. The only noise is their breathing and the rustle of fabric. Fraser's is watching Ray with wide eyes; Ray is staring down at his own fingers.

Oh, yes! And Fraser moves his arms for him, and he raises his chin when Ray unties his tie, and otherwise it's almost like undressing a doll, like they're both afraid to say anything in case the moment breaks.

And they're still not touching, except that Ray leaves his hands on Fraser's shoulder or chest a little longer than necessary, but there's that little hollow at Fraser's throat that Ray hardly ever gets to see, and never when he's in uniform. Fraser's not moving, either, but there's a drop of sweat there.

And Ray reaches the very last button and undoes it, and then he pauses, with his hands still on it, and Fraser reaches out and moves Ray's hand and then shrugs the shirt off his shoulders so it falls behind him. Fraser ducks his head, then, and his hair brushes soft against the side of Ray's face.

A hand on Fraser's shirt is how it started and where they went from there, so they haven't got far - or anywhere, really - with Ray's clothes, but he can feel Fraser's breath on his neck, just above his collar. He tilts his head, offering up more skin.

And he's surprised when Fraser's hand goes to his chin, nudging his head so they're looking into each other's eyes, and then then Fraser's fingers are skimming up his cheeks to his glasses. He pulls them off, folds them shut carefully, and reaches to set them down lightly on a table to the side. Then Fraser's hands are by Ray's sides, close enough to the bottom hem of his t-shirt that he can feel the warmth.

'Ray.' Fraser's voice sounds different - softer, sort of desperate, and his fingers are tugging on Ray's belt loops. Ray leans his hips into Fraser's hands, letting himself sink into the blurry warmth of Fraser's body.

I thought Jensen Ackles and crew made me immune to the pure pretty, and predisposed to RayK's slouching sexiness, but nooo, Fraser, with your little patch of collarbone and that furrow between your eyebrows.

Butting in here being helpful sorry - it's the librarian in me

To me, "Fraser's Zebra" is one of two vids - Out Here (http://heresluck.livejournal.com/188932.html) by heresluck or Icebound Stream (http://sisabet.livejournal.com/320165.html) by sisabet.

Icebound Stream is Fraser and Victoria, so if you haven't watched the Victoria episodes yet you will get spoiled. But don't let the lack of RayK scare you off. The whole Victoria thing is a large part of what makes Fraser who he is. This is the best vid I have ever seen and it haunts me and tears my heart out every time. Poor hurt Fraser.

Out Here is mostly Fraser but with RayK interaction and slashiness. I love it and think it is a wonderful, insightful look at a Fraser who is out of his natural environment and just trying to do the best he can. ::Squishes him::

The brown uniform has always been my favorite. It's funny -- I started watching Due South back when I was in high school, and even though I've watched the whole series multiple times since then, seeing caps of s1/s2 Fraser just sends my mind riiiight back to its 16-year-old state. Ahh...

Ray Kowalski likes the brown uniform. Like, seriously - he really, really likes it.

Partly, of course, because it's easier to get in and out of - makes it that much easier to sneak a quick one in the bathroom, his hands in Fraser's pants, fast and filthy up against the cinderblocks in the last stall. Fraser's breath is hot and fast and frantic against the side of Ray's neck, and his hair gets sweaty and rumpled. They have to be careful, though - easier access, with the brown uniform, but it doesn't hide stains at all. (the serge, as Ray has long suspected, comes down far enough to cover - well, pretty much anything.)

But before all of this - before Ray knew what Fraser's mouth tasted like, before they started spending their nights learning each other's bodies - even before that, Ray liked the brown uniform best. Fraser looked more natural, in the brown, more comfortable in his own skin; he moved easier, smiled wider. He wasn't a superman, wasn't a tin soldier, wasn't anything that anyone else expected him to be - he was just Ray's partner, smart and funny and fucking gorgeous. Still crazy, of course - still the guy who jumped on cars and out of airplanes and who tasted things no sane person would taste - but he did that because he wanted to, because it was right.

(huh. I totally meant that to be all about how Ray would fantasize about stripping off Fraser's tie, undoing the buttons one by one, hauling him close by the suspenders and then pushing them off, slow and easy - I'm still not sure where it went. Um. Enjoy?)
