ds snippet (movement)
22/4/06 17:31Hmmm. Snippet for
aerye! This is still early enough in the timeline where it is F/K and F/V but not K/V yet -- the Mountie and his Boyfriends have not yet made their way to OT3 4-evah.

The first time Ray sees Fraser kissing Vecchio, it feels like someone's ripping his heart out of his chest. Which doesn't make any sense, it doesn't, because he's okay with this, he really is. He thinks he is. They talked it over like adults, they have rules, everybody's happy.
It's not like he didn't know Fraser and Vecchio were fucking. And it's not even-- it's not, like, a sexy kiss or anything.
What happens is this: it's Saturday afternoon, they're all in the apartment, him and Vecchio are on the couch watching TV while Fraser is wandering around doing weird Fraser stuff. And then Fraser decides that, hey, it's a beautiful day, he and Dief are gonna take advantage of it, so he gets changed and the two of them are getting ready to go out and he promises to bring home some dinner with him, and that's all fine. And then he comes over to the couch and says "I'll be back soon" and leans over the back to kiss Ray good-bye, just like he's done a hundred million times before.
And then he does the same thing to Vecchio.
And Fraser's gone, and it's just Ray and Vecchio sitting on the couch alone, and Ray thinks maybe he's gonna throw up.
For a couple of minutes, Ray doesn't look over at Vecchio at all, just straight at the TV, straight ahead, no sideways at all.
And then when he does look over, he's surprised, because Vecchio is looking at him -- and for once, Vecchio doesn't have his tough guy face on. Vecchio looks maybe even a little sympathetic.
"YOu want me to go? I can go."
"What?" Ray says, playing it cool. "No, whatever. You can stay, I don't care."
Vecchio smiles a little bit, turns back to the TV, and Ray can't help staring at him a little longer than he should, going over it all again, the angles of his face, the thinning hair, the length of his fancy clothes. Fraser has sex with Vecchio, Ray thinks, and it doesn't do anything to his stomach at all. Fraser loves Vecchio, Ray thinks, and his hand clenches tight on the cushion.
For a second Ray wonders what it'd be like, kissing Vecchio, being in bed with him like he is with Fraser. He can't imagine it -- and then he can, and that's weird, really weird. And it almost makes him laugh, because he can just see it: the two of them in bed, and Fraser-- Fraser sitting in the corner watching. Because he would, Fraser would get off on that like nothing else; hell, he's probably been planning it already.
And then Ray must chuckle out loud, because Vecchio looks over at him, curious, and says, "What're you laughing about?"
"Nothing," Ray says. And after a minute, "Our boyfriend's a pervert."
And Vecchio is still looking at him when he breaks into a smile and shakes his head slowly, like he can't even argue, and then Ray laughs for real.
