I have so much fondness and love for Pete/Mikey AU fic it's almost sickening. Seriously. Their stupid little faces, I don't even know! Boooooooooooys.

Man, but using del.icio.us to find stories by just searching for "pete/mikey" or "mikey/pete" as a tag is surprisingly frustrating, though. Just because they're used as a secondary pairing so often, because while I'm sure Gerard/Patrick (or whatever) is a lovely and intriguing pairing in its own right, it's not what I'm in the mood to read, with the other guys wandering off together in the background. My life: so hard.

My unfinished story folder has two files in it right now. One of them is my abandoned DS Match fic, the first 1000 words of angsty AU where Fraser is a medieval monk -- which, the IDEA is totally awesome, but the actual story is horrifically sucky. Not interesting sucky, either, just boring and vague and ungrounded with no real action or plot. So you're not going to see that.

The other file, though, is from a Canadian actor RPF I started the day after I posted the Katie Heigl/Callum Keith Rennie story. I can't remember where I was planning to go with this at all, but I know it would have been extraordinarily pretty, and smooching and sexin' was gonna happen. So, here you go, the whole 60 words I got down on it:

This time, Callum's the last one to get to the hotel room. Sandra and Molly have both already made themselves at home -- Molly's cross-legged on the bed with a glass of orange juice, stripped down to her bra and a pair of jean shorts, while Sandra is sitting in her stocking feet in the armchair, flipping through a magazine.

Awesome pairings the random generator has been me in the last five minutes: Mikey Way/Joe Trohman; Vicky-T/Brendon Urie; Spencer Smith/Gabe Saporta; Jon Walker/Gerard Way; Ray Toro/Ryan Ross; Travis McCoy/Vicky-T; Gabe Saporta/Gabe Saporta.

(I had to edit those out so I did not just give you every pairing I got with Mikeyway. He's not even my favorite in MCR -- that's Gerard -- and I totally support his real life marriage happiness, and yet. I want to see him make out with EVERYBODY, you guys!)

And then the last one it gave me was Pete/Patrick. All together: awwwwww.

Also, the last few days have really brought in focus the main problem I have with writer's block, which is not so much the feeling of not creating something -- which, yes, can really really really suck, but which I can come to terms with after a while -- as the fact that it makes it SO MUCH HARDER to bribe people into writing stuff for you. I could say "write me a sentence or paragraph of pete/mikey and I'll give you a cookie!", but internet cookies are not a very valuable form of currency.

Teasing about Sandra/Molly/Callum is mean.

You do not play fair.

Okay, you have seen that paragraph like five times already, so WHATEVER. Plus, you know I would love to write it for you if I could!

Also, did you get the Meredith song I sent you the other day?

And EVERY ONE OF THOSE TIMES, I was like "Wow, this is an awesome paragraph. It should go somewhere awesome. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE AWESOME."

I didn't! You should clearly send it again, since I'm about 36 oz from sleeping and am bored.

Your icon + repeated use of the word icon = me deciding you need to write me Cristina Yang/Barney Stinson.

My birthday's only a month and a half away, you know. *waits patiently*

I was all ready to comment all outraged that you are TOTALLY EXAGGERATING and that is BULLSHIT and then I realized that, shit, your birthday IS only a month and a half away.

HOW DID TIME GO SO FAST?

God, Amy. Haven't you learned by now that you should never, ever doubt me?

THIS IS SO UNFAIR. YOU KNOW I AM WEAK.

P.S. Okay, so I kind of really like that song. I hate you. And would not mind some more, if you had any.

Hee. That was not a pimping song, actually; that was a "do you think this is a Meredith Grey song and thus should be put on my list if I ever vid again" song!

It's too bad I don't have any Farscape icons with actual muppets in them. Claudia Black's superhotness will have to do.

I think it is Meredith-perfect.

I think I have enough icons with Muppets for both of us, darling.

Pete/Mikey OMG OTP!

because while I'm sure Gerard/Patrick (or whatever) is a lovely and intriguing pairing in its own right, it's not what I'm in the mood to read, with the other guys wandering off together in the background.

Heh. Exactly. And Pete/Mikey is also a tricky pairing when you are not in the mood to read heartbreaking breakup-fics. *sniff*

Ray Toro/Ryan Ross is kind of an awesome pairing!

OMG YES OTP!!! It's weird, because I don't really have a problem with them breaking up and moving on to the loves of their lives with Patrick or Alicia or whatever ... but they're still my FAVORITE. SIGH.

And yes, with the heartbreaking break-ups. But they're also fucking adorable and dorky and sweet, so it kind of evens out? I guess? Plus as much as I adore Summer of Like fic, for some reason the AU stuff works for me even more. Although that can have heartbreaking break-ups, too, of course (HI I'M LOOKING AT YOU HERE.)

For the fourteen minutes I've been in bandom so far, it's been all about Mikey for me. :D And I'm searching for that one, perfect mikey/pete fic, too. (I just love them together.) I'm sure you've read this, but just in case. It's wonderful:

Nostalgia by impertinence (http://impertinence.livejournal.com/314705.html)

And this? The Way Your Make-up Stains my Pillowcase by valerielewis (http://www.valerielewis.net/badbadbadbadman/makeup.html) It has pete/mikey in the background, but it's hilarious pete and gerard. so much love. *bg*

Hmm, have you seen Everyday Mysteries in the Summertime (http://www.waxjism.org/shame/stories/everyday.html) by [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism? One of my favorite AUs. And um, Play This Record in Reverse (http://www.charmingdelusion.com/files/bandslash_fob_play_this_record_in_reverse.html) by [livejournal.com profile] madsciencechick is cracktastic and definitely not primarily Pete/Mikey, but is still made of awesome. And wow, I think that's exhausted my recs. Now I feel sad! Where is all the Pete/Mikey?

Reading Wax's story for the first time was one of the things that motivated my declaration of love, man. I have a few more Pete/Mikey recs here (http://del.icio.us/pearl_o/pete/mikey), but yeah, definitely not enough.
