1) So...Fall Out Boy fans are those people who carry dogs in their purses, I guess.

2) Crazy people are awesome.

You know that *Pete* would carry Hemmy in his purse if it was big enough, dude. It is a sadness of his life.

For some reason I felt a need to look up Carrie Brownstein on wikipedia right after I found her blog, and along with discovering her major was in sociolinguistics (it makes her even hotter!), the whole story about her being outed to her entire family from a SPIN magazine article about her and her bandmate dating predictably makes me think bandom thoughts. Sigh.

shit, sociolinguistics? that means that i probably had classes with her teacher.

cubbie learned, at the evergreen show: that one of them has a dog named toby (but not like you, tobi vail who is right there), who has a dogster.

When I was at Evergreen, it used to weird me out on a regular basis, all the famous people who had gone there within the last twenty years.

Oh dude, the Wikipedia thing is AWESOME. They went to Australia to celebrate Corin's graduation! Carrie was still in college! For some reason, that's just like the cutest thing EVER. I am so filled with love for my band now.

GET BACK TOGETHER, DAMMIT. ::sobs::

*pets you* They have been my favorite band for a really long time, and I don't really see that ever changing. Sigh!

I can TOTALLY OUT-S-K-FAN YOU. Since summer '96, baby! My brother made me buy the S/T album on vinyl, and I fell in love. :D

(...unless you beat me in the fanstakes, in which case I shall slink away with tail between legs, etc.)

yeah, we were eleven. you were thirteen?

i didn't get my copy of the hot rock until we were fourteen (because that's when it came out?) but i swear that was my first album but also i swear that i got it in middle school. so that's confusing. unless i was fourteen in middle school. which i don't want to math.

No, dude, you totally win, it's okay! I didn't get into them until ... 1999? 2000? 9th grade for me, anyway. Dig Me Out was the first album I ever bought without hearing songs on the radio first. It was a religious experience, man.

...Also, they represent 1/3 of all my concert experiences ever?

who knew that biking around my hometown carrying my cat on my shoulders was a cry for attention? I just thought it was fun in nice weather. she had a harness & lead, and was quite content to cruise around with me - if I visited someplace she couldn't enter (grocery store, candy shop, restaurant), she stayed in the front basket until I came out again.

It's not as bad as the woman in North Portland who brings a mini pony with her to the coffee shop, but it still makes me uneasy;

ERICA I KNOW THAT COFFEE SHOP. I HAVE SEEN THAT PONY.

ohmigosh! is carrie doing a segment for npr? this might be the most exciting thing i've heard all day.

confession: more than anything, i want some old school sleater-kinney fic from around the time when corin and carrie were dating. sigh, too bad i don't have a magical fic monkey at my disposal to write me such things. woe.

She doesn't seem to be actually doing anything on the radio, but that's where the blog is hosted.
