I am in love with the bandom unpopular opinion meme, you guys. Here are a couple of things it's got me thinking about, though:

Things I have learned from the bandom unpopular opinions meme:

1) Incest fic is wrong, not hot. I want to go around saying that about everything now, you guys. (Also, complaining about incest should be against the rules at the same time you complain about no one writing kink = hilarious, y/n?)

2) There are people who hate Frank/Bob, you guys. Apparently a (ANONYMOUSLY) LOUD AND VOCAL section of fandom! I just. I feel like my world is turned upside down. Frank/Bob. It's made of kittens and rainbows and dorky-ass goofy freaks! I AM GOING TO BLOCK ALL THIS KNOWLEDGE FROM MY MIND BECAUSE IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY YOU GUYS. If you hate this pairing, don't ever ever ever tell me. I am going to live in a world where everyone embraces it's awesomeness.

(You can tell me if you don't like Fraser/Kowalski or Pete/Mikey or, I don't know, even John/Aeryn. I will be surprised by your lack of taste, but it won't WOUND MY SOUL like this.)

3) I can vaguely follow the arguments, but in reality I will never get why people hate fic with the canon girlfriends/wives involved.

4) There are people who think the fact that Gerard looks like a girl is a BAD THING. Also people who use "cocksucker" as an insult. I'm so confused.

5) MIKEY WAY IS A HOT-ASS SHUT UP.

6) No, Patrick Stump is not fat, but if he WAS, that wouldn't be a horrible insult and it wouldn't make him automatically ugly and completely unattractive. BOTH THE PEOPLE TRYING TO INSULT HIM AND THE PEOPLE DEFENDING HIM TEND TO PISS ME OFF. Fat is not a horrible slur! FAT PEOPLE ARE HOT, OKAY.

I...seriously don't get hating any pairing to the point of badmouthing it, I find. The pairings I'm most "DO NOT WANT" about, I've still never found it hard to just not read the fic or comment in the threads. Live and let live, people!

*grins* I do talk about some pairings I don't like, but I try to be respectful about it, anyway. Like, I had a huge Ray/Ray squick in dS, and there are entries where I try to discuss why it doesn't work for me -- but I'm never, like, UGH THIS SUCKS WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE UGH.

...Except on AIM, but I'm always joking then.

Exactly! I'll talk about why I don't like certain pairings, but I try to keep it civil. Every OMG THIS PAIRING IS GROSS!" "...okay, I get not liking it, but what makes it 'gross'?" "IDK I JUST DON'T LIKE IT AS MUCH AS MY OTP" exchange I see in an anonymeme makes me facepalm.
