unofficial xkcd fic challenge!

So my friends list indicated there would be interest in participating in a XKCD-based challenge, so here we go.

This is completely informal and unofficial, so there are only a couple of rules. Comment to this entry, and I will give you two comics from xkcd. You then write fic based on/inspired by one of those comics.

+ You can write any length. I expect most of you will just do commentfic or short ficlets, but if you're inspired, go as long as you like.
+ You can write in any fandom you want.
+ You only have to use one of the comics, but if you want, you can use both.
+ You can post your thing as a comment here, or post in your own journal and leave a link.
+ However you interpret your prompt is up to you.
