So all of you guys who commented on my post yesterday? Thank you. Seriously, thank you so much. It's, uh, possible I almost cried.

Today was a good day. I went to class! I am pretty sure I aced the really easy bio midterm. And after that was the Lithuanian/PIE seminar, which is pretty much made of awesome. Seriously, I draw so many hearts around that class. SO MANY. Even though today we were talking about accentuation and prosody, which, uh, pretty much make my mind go totally blank whenever they come up.

Here, this is the typed handout we print out before class and then go over:

If you understood any of that, you are pretty awesome. And possibly an even bigger dork than me.

Sometimes when I am falling sleep and my mind is doing that random wandering thing? I end up thinking up new arguments for the stage gay wank. Yes, the one from LAST SUMMER. When I wasn't actually even IN BANDOM. The hell, brain! THE HELL.

My tummy hurts. My journal is currently friended by 666 accounts. I have seven classes left to go to before COBRA TIME. (Who else is going to the Portland show next Friday?) The Super Bowl episode of Alias season 2 is still just as awesome as it ever was.

If I was the sort of person who did bandomsecrets, my secrets would all be things like this:

1. I love Ray and I love Bob but I can't get into Ray/Bob because I associate it with weird tinhatting
2. When Patrick is paired with anyone but Pete or Bob, I get bored.
2a. When Patrick is paired with Gerard or Frank, I read the story anyway just because it is usually Summer of Like and there might be Pete/Mikey references hiding out in a few sentences. And then I get sad because I wish the story was about them instead.
3. Every time something happens in Panic fandom, I sort of gaze at my friends list the same way I gaze at it when something happens in Supernatural. Like "Aww. You guys are so cute! I don't get it at all, but you're cute!" And then someone posts a picture of Gerard I have never seen before and I FREAK OUT LIKE A NUTCASE.
4. I judge people who are mean to Pete Wentz. Like, I might still love you a lot! But I see it as a character flaw of some kind.
5. Everytime someone says Mikey Way is not hot, a unicorn dies. D:

I understood a disturbing amount of that for someone who has never taken a Linguistics class. /o\

Ahahahaha, that's impressive! Seriously, this was the hardest lecture of the term so far. I have taken dozens of linguistics classes, and I can barely follow that without the lecture and my handwritten notes.

I really love linguistics in principle, but I was never at a school where I could take it, which makes me sadfaced.

Someone pls remind me that I would hate being an academic again?

morphophonemics in general is like my least favourite thing ever, and this does nothing to disprove that D:

it's like when i took a senior seminar on historical french linguistics and had to memorize the entire history of the sound changes from latin to 18th century french. zomg, worst ever.

I looooooooooooooove morphophonemics, for real. Prosody makes me fall asleep, but morphophonemics might be my very favorite.

And, uh, that seminar sounds like one of my DREAM classes. If only I hadn't lost all my French, sigh.

to be fair, the course got more interesting once we stopped the phonetics and phonology and got into the good stuff, like the loss of case marking and v2 :D actually the loss of phonetically-realized verb conjugations was maybe the most interesting part, especially since the old pronunciations have been preserved as standard spellings. bless the academie francaise and their crazy conservative asses! ♥

i think the problem is that i am all about the morphosyntax, all the time. the best course i've ever taken should probably have been called "hey, you know GB, right? TIME TO BEND OVER FOR MINIMALISM!". three hours a week of glorious blissful mental stimulation over the most ridiculously abstract crap.

I still think about the stage gay wank sometimes. It was quality wank and I was actually thinking about it tonight because of a conversation I was having about bisexuality.

2a. I will read anything set during the summer of like. I just love that period. I even read this really horrendous story where all the guys in MCR were having like a sexual competition with each other and being horrible to all of the FOB boys. It was like multi-part unfinished WIP and yet I kept reading for the Pete/Mikey and Patrick/Frank.

4. Me too! I kind of still have a grudge against some people because they said mean things about pete before being in bandom and even though they seem to love him now I am an elephant who never forgets!

5. Mikey Way is ridiculously hot in every incarnation. Pete Wentz is never wrong about these things!

See, handouts like that make me useful because I can be like "...what's that?" and you'd be forced to explain it in Baby Stupid Person terms and it would help you understand it better.

I thought of something earlier that was so extremely important that I almost texted you? But then I didn't and now I've forgotten. Woe! D:

Although I have SO MANY of those handouts, I think you would get sick of it awful quickly!

Awwww! I wonder what it could have been! Do you think it was connected to either Cobras or Bob Bryar?

(Tomorrow I might try and take the bus from Eugene Station to Oakway Center. 57 is NEW AND SCARY ADVENTURE TIME.)

I was just having a conversation with someone about Gerard Way, and how even if it turns out he has only had sex with girls, and even if it turns out he has only ever wanted to have sex with girls, I'm still not sure you can consider him *not* queer, with regard to his gender, his identity, and his politics.

I MAY HAVE READ THAT STORY TOO. Sigh, badfic, why so hard to resist?

I am mostly okay with people outside of bandom hating on him. It's just when anybody in bandom does that I make the sad face of shock. OH PETE WENTZ. You stupid boy, why am I so over emotionally invested?

Pete Wentz is never wrong about these things!

I dunno, dude; I don't really get Ryan Ross's appeal.

Hee. I'm a simple soul. You never know. As long as you let me babble about the importance of salt in the history of the world from time to time, I'm pretty happy. I was reading An Abundance of Katherines yesterday and a footnote was like listing things that the main character had found out no one normal was interested in and the history of salt was one of them! I was like HEY.

It might have been about MCR somehow. But god, if I remember.

Badfic ugh, why do people think of these cracky premises that could actually be sort of awesome and then write them so badly? I mean on the surface MCR competing against one another in sexual olympics should have been AMAZING!

I am mostly okay with people outside of bandom hating on him. It's just when anybody in bandom does that I make the sad face of shock. That's why you're probably a much better person than I am:)

As for Ryro, I don't actually think there was anything sexual about Pete's relationship with him. Voila! Problem solved and Pete's hotass meter is still infallible! I like picking and choosing the things I believe to suite my arguments. It makes me right, so much more of the time.

There are Ray/Bob tinhats? What do they tinhat *about?* I mean, I love them, but there's at least as much evidence for Bob/any other member of MCR+Brian. Everyone loves Bob!

That class looks so fascinating although I don't understand a word of it! *really wants to go back to school*

Also, I was just yesterday thinking up stagegay arguments and realizing why that wank pissed me off so much (hellooooo, binary assumptions of sexuality and prescriptive definitions of sexual behavior, smite smite smite).

ITA about Pete. During all the "pedo/rapist" pseudo wank, I had this giant post in my head about mental illness and questions of consent but never did anything with it.

And I was going to post something yesterday, but I literally could not trim down enough of any of the Trish/Bob to make it a)fit in a comment or b) make sense.
