Let's bring back this meme, because I'm really very fond of it:
Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you between one and three sentences from that story. The last time I did this was back in mid-December - the responses from then can be found
here and
here.

15/5/12 21:50 (UTC)Erik cuts himself off with what looks like a vicious bite to his upper lip. He sucks in a long deep breath and then lets it out slowly. What Charles can feel from his mind seems to go still, too, or at least quieter, as if Erik is forcing everything down to the background.
"I forfeit the game," Erik says, standing up. "Good night, Charles."
"Erik, wait-"
He did it again, Charles thinks, he wasn't paying enough attention and he's said the wrong thing, responded to Erik's thoughts instead of his words. It hurts, a little, to see how angry it's made Erik. The way the two of them have spoken before about their mutations, their gifts, he'd thought that Erik would be a little more understanding. He was wrong, apparently. "I didn't mean-" Charles starts awkwardly.
Erik doesn't turn to him. I know that, Charles hears from his head, but out loud Erik just says, "Go to tell," before he leaves, slamming the library door closed behind him.
