schmerica: (other: kink)
[personal profile] schmerica
For every kink, there is an anti-kink, right? There is one of yet another reason [livejournal.com profile] eliade's kink list is so fascinating. It's a toss: which is more fun, looking at your own kinks, or looking at everyone else's?

Like, I personally? Am not a big fan of watersports, or prostitution AUs, or food play. They're not squicks exactly, just not my thing. And obviously some of my things -- hi, incest! hi, genderfuck! -- are not other's things. Different strokes for different folks, right? We all have our own things that turn us on, whatever.

What's interesting, though, is that writing porn for Other People's Kinks Which You Do Not Share often seems to be some of the best writing you get. Fraser and Kowalski doing it in an alley is way, way, way down on my list of porn for them, but the story I wrote [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl that has that exact plot is one of my very favorites of my own.

So, then. What are some of your anti-kinks? And what do I have to dare you to make you try writing drabbles or ficlets about them? COME ON YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.

Hee! see, I don't think saying "this concept does nothing for me" necessarily implies "I don't think I could ever like this concept written in a fic" -- which I think is more of the implications you get from actual fierce squicks, right? I sort of assume that pretty much anything can be made palatable or even awesome with the right writing. (Sort of the opposite of Te's bulletproof kink from a while back, I suppose.)
