Thought experiment of the day: trying to imagine Hard Core Logo as an all-woman band.

I have some specific points that I think would be really interesting there -- for one thing, I think that a lot of stuff wouldn't change; the agressiveness, anger and general fucked-up-edness would all be equally present; for another, I do think the Joe/Billy relationship would be more publicly, blatantly sexual, and I think female sexuality would be a really important tool in Joe Dick's Ways of Fucking With the World -- but I can't really concentrate on any of them for long. I'm too stuck on the idea of JOE DICK: FEMINIST ICON.

I want to see this! I've often thought that, apart from the whole man-parts thing, there was a lot of the old Doomed Lesbian archetype in Joe's character, so it's not that hard for me to picture him as a (very non-gender-conformist) woman.
