ramble warning
14/1/07 10:14It's the Sunday of a three-day weekend. As always on these days, I feel oddly at loose ends and don't know what to do with myself. How easily things go topsy-turvy in my head!
Yesterday I spent the afternoon playing Scrabble and going to dinner with
speshope, which was fun. I won both games of Scrabble, but they were within 15 points both times. Dinner was at a cool brewpub downtown, where we sat in comfy armchairs that made us feel really, really short, and I had really good spicy old-fashioned draft root beer, which tastes less like any root beer I've bought in the store than like the random huge jugs of root beer/birch beer/sarsaparilla I remember from family picnics in SE Pennsylvania when I was little.
Of course, after Spes dropped me off last night, I felt really crappy, so I started going over my symptoms over and over and convincing myself I was dying of a horrible disease. Or had a sinus infection, one or the other. But then I fell asleep at 9pm, and when I woke up this morning, the pounding headache was gone, along with the weird feeling of pressure in my head, most of the earache, and the not-quite-feverish flush. So, uh, go powers of sleep! Woot!
Man, so the last few days I have been in the mood to write! Which I haven't been for a long time! But unfortunately, this urge does not seem to come together with any sort of inspiration or ability of any kind, so basically I think I am worse off than before, because at least the last couple months I have been basically okay with my complete lack of producing anything. LAME. I miss having stories and bits of dialogue in my brain!
This is just adding to my feeling of being TOTALLY BORING lately. People! Sometimes this lj is interesting! I talk about things and write stories and post pictures and am entertaining! I know because I've read through some of the archives! It's true!
The 24th is my third anniversary in due South fandom; February 3rd is my fifth anniversary in fandom as a whole. I'm slightly scared by those numbers. It doesn't feel like it's been that long since 2002 and 2004. Five years! I am no longer a shy wimpy 17-year-old faking my way through it all, but a mature and intelligent and awesome 22-year-old grown-up. Not faking it at all. No sir. Not me.
Hmm.
The other day I was pouting because
brooklinegirl didn't want to add my "underage or chan" prompt to the list of options for the kinkfest at
stop_drop_porn.
BLG: okay, but how would you even WRITE it in DS? I'm confused!
ME: ...Man, you haven't been paying any attention at all to me, have you? Pretty much anything backstory-y for Fraser or the Rays would qualify, yo. Early-early puberty fumbling around and discovering masturbation by themselves or stuff with a peer; inappropriate cross-generation stuff either with established characters (Fraser's bazillion father substitutes) or original ones (teachers, friends, meh, whatever. I'm still fond of the idea of teenage Fraser losing his virginity to a woman in her 30s, for example). There are lots of options! It's at least as easy as priest kink. Heh.
(Thread here.)
brooklinegirl gave in at that point, but I TOTALLY had more examples to give. 13-year-old!Smithbauer/Fraser! RayK/Stella when they're 15/14 or 14/13! Fraser/Quinn or Fraser/Gerard (shut up, you know I have it stuck in your head now, ha). I think it would be extremely difficult to do show-era Fraser or the Rays with an underage partner, but otherwise, there are millions of options.
(Goddammit, brain, just because you said something would be extremely difficult does NOT mean you should immediately be intrigued if someone could do it without character assassination and over-the-topness. Man.)
...I forgot that I hadn't posted this entry yet, and was feeling sorry for myself that no one cared enough to comment yet. IT IS THAT KIND OF DAY, PEOPLE.
In conclusion, when I google "ray kowalski cock", the first two links are to
hth_the_first, the third is to me, the 4th and 5th are to del.icio.us pages, and the 6th is
cesperanza. For "benton fraser cock", most of the first page of results is still fanfiction porn, but the fourth entry is the Wikipedia page on Due South.
Oh! You have all read the Wikipedia synopsis of Hard Core Logo, right? It is pretty awesome. MacDonald demonstrates the death of punk through the course of events portrayed in the film. Just as transplanting wildflowers guarantees their destruction, the desperation with which lead singer Joe Dick tries to recapture the glory days of Hard Core Logo literally kills punk.
Wikipedia also tells me that Hugh Dillon is the voice of Canadian Chevrolet ads, which none of you had ever told me before. Huh.
Sometimes I wonder if maybe you guys are all starting to think of me as just "That Crazy Girl Who Loves Fraser the Best." Because, I mean, I do, but there are many other facets to my character. For example, I also like things that are shiny.
I wish there were more Twitch City fic in the world. I want more of these characters. MORE.

14/1/07 18:38 (UTC)i mean, the first page was still mostly porn, but delicious was lower down and there were two livejournals (ONE OF WHICH WAS NOT YOURS) on the first page!

14/1/07 18:39 (UTC)Personally, I think a young Fraser would've been easy prey for an older person, male or female. I'm more inclined toward slash than het, but I could see either one, Fraser being seduced by the affection and attention.
I could see Ray as a kind of daredevil, willing to experiment or "try anything" even at an early age.
I don't do Vecchio, so I couldn't comment on that part, but I'd love to read some kinky Fraser or Ray in an underage story.

14/1/07 18:41 (UTC)You really should make people write that. You are good at that, and I don't think I've ever read a TC fic I didn't love.
(I was considering not commenting to this, and then IMing to ask why you haven't updated in forEVER, to make you think you hadn't posted it AGAIN, but other people already have so that makes the joke less funny. Also I remembered I like you.)

14/1/07 18:43 (UTC)And I totally adore young!Fraser/Smithbauer. Actually, I really like those two older, too, anything pre-S3.
