HEY GUYS GUESS WHO MANAGED TO LOCK THEMSELVES OUT OF THEIR HOUSE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN ONE TERM?

(Hint: me.)

Yeaaaah, I'm a pretty princess. I went outside to water the plants this evening and didn't realize my roommate had locked the door when she left the house earlier this afternoon.

There are very few things in this world I have more disdain for at the moment than locked doors which allow you to exit without unlocking. I NEED TECHNOLOGY TO SAVE ME FROM MY OWN STUPIDITY.

Still, getting locked out today from apparently eighty billion times more pleasant then when it happened in January. For one thing, it was for about 40 minutes instead of 5 hours. For another, it was 68 degrees and sunny out instead of 32 degrees and snowing. Furthermore, I was wearing clothes (not pajamas) AND shoes! It was not unlike when I was child and my parents used to force me to stay outside for a while despite my hatred for the sun, really.

Anyway. This hated term is almost over, though! I finished both the big projects today, so all that is left is finals -- an exam on Monday, and take-homes due on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then it will be vacation and THEN it will be jamboree! WOOT.

I told [livejournal.com profile] aerye a couple hours ago how I was thinking about various topics in my Vecchio love. Like Vecchio het (you know he's totally a great lover). And my huge button for cute!uncle!Vecchio, and protective!older!brother!Vecchio (man, I crave more teenage Vecchio fic SO HARD), which led me a brain tangent earlier about how I think Vecchio would actually be a really, really good dad. Better than either of the other due South guys, I would think.

EDITED TO ADD: Also when I was locked outside I found myself staring into space and decided that Karen/Jim/Pam would be the Worst, Most Awkward, Spectacularly Ill-Advised Threesome in the History of the World.

Honey, don't walk outside of your house without keys anymore, okay? Okay. I worry!

OMG, I love Vecchio, and I think he IS a great lover (although I think that could be said for either men or women), and I kind of have a soft spot for teenage Vecchio/Irene. And you're right - he would be a good dad. You think he'd be better than Kowalski though? Hmm....

I do think he'd be better at Kowalski! I mean, I do think Kowalski would be able to *become* a great dad, but I think he'd definitely have a steep learning curve, you know?

I always take my keys when I am leaving the PROPERTY. Sigh. I keep falling for the illusion of "oh, it's just a step! it'll take a second!"

Sooomeday I am actually going to write the Pam/Karen in my head. Sadly there really aren't a whole lot of threesome fics out there, though. *pout*

Still, the fact that there *are* some and that they are good enough to rec to me is very promising to me, at least!

Considering how many times I locked myself out of the dorms my freshman year of college? You're still doing okay!

Though I would suggest maybe keeping your cell phone on you so I can perform daring rescues.

Seriously. I was sitting out there like "man, if only I could just grab my cell and call spes -- OH WAIT."

Alternatively, I really need to memorize your phone number.

today i did my two projects, got sick, got the fee reversed at my bank, AND got locked out of the house. I told Fox I think I deserve delivery for dinner. *sulks*

(I was going to ask if you wanted to do dinner and rent a movie, but I expect that would be stretching your gas ration a little too far?)

Hmmm. Let me ponder. If we did Papa Murphey's, it'd probably be all right, as Papa Murphey's and blockbuster are in the same area. So I wouldn't be driving all over town.

Hmm. I'm not really in a papa murphy's mood. Let's just wait and do the buck fifty theater in a couple days.

...ps, if you are still awake, we could totally make the 10 or 10.30 shows of 300 at either valley river or gateway.

I think that was for the best, because I have rethought spending that much money!

If you want to do the buck fifty this afternoon, I think that and the buying of a bottle of juice (I want to get the naked juice with a 1000% or whatever of vitamin c for my cold) will be the last money I attempt to spend before my sister picks me up on Thursday.

I took my [livejournal.com profile] ds_harlequin prompt precisely because it had Vecchio taking care of his sister's kids. I am so easy. Hee.

You need to start a new movement so new goood fic will just ... sprout up! All around!

I am not sure how one would go about doing so, though. Hmm.

Well, it does seem like there is more these days... I mean, there's definitely more F/V goodness going on than when I started here last year. But it's still not very much.

Hm, but, I don't think there is a way to encourage others to F/V. I mean, it's a thing you either do or you don't. Even I kind of don't, except for how I do. It's confusing!

I was thinking more along the lines of the people who do kind of F/V and encouraging them to do so a little more. But you make a very good point! Hmm.

Or something more practical like fic challenges?

Oh, ho ho--on one occasion, I locked myself out of the place I was housesitting TWICE, while the owners were on a month and a half-long vacation. In ANTARCTICA.

::is so, so pretty::

I totally misread this the first few times and thought you were saying you were locked out in Antarctica, not that the owners were in Antarctica, and thought it was the coolest thing I had ever heard. Vacation to Antarctica is still massively cool though!

But, I got to see all their penguin photographs when they came back. Which was almost as cool.

No question about it. Fraser would do his best, but come up short due to pther responsiblities. RayK would have his whole heart in it, but would be eccentric in application.
