My sister's rewatching Mountie on the Bounty; my oh my are those boys handsome. One might even say delectable. I'm curious on the fannish consensus on something, though: before they leave for Sault Ste Marie, Fraser has the line saying "We're still partners then?" Famous exchange in CotW if the "partners?"/"If you'll have me" -- is that deliberate or meaningful echoing there? Or do you think it's just demonstrating that they are big giant girls, only without adequate communication skills?

heeee, but it comes up again at the end of part 2, right? Even though the wore "partner" isn't actually spoken (which I think makes it better, because you can plug in all sorts of words in it's place. Like BOYFRIENDS.) So they get back together and everything is ok! And I'm sure the make-up sex was fantastic.

Yup, both! I forget who pointed this out to me, but in the blooper reel, they do the exchange with the arm-on-wall-blocking-the-other-guy-in flirty thing, and they know EXACTLY how gay it is. And they toned it down for the final, but they kept the line because they know EXACTLY how gay their characters are. \o/ My tinhat, it is shiny today.

Actually I've seen on a blooper reel, that they went even further than that. After the line 'If you'll have me', Callum turns around, bends over and Paul gives a great big thrust against his backside. They were at least very much aware of the gay (sub)text! Unfortunately, I have no idea were I found that particular reel.

I always saw it as a deliberate echo - also, notice how it's been reversed. In MOTB, it was Fraser asking, and in COTW, Ray. ♥ &hearts ♥

Also, they're big giant girls. I mean, those two options are SO not mutually exclusive. :D
