beyond tinhats
13/10/07 09:49Hey, RPS people -- and I mean that all around, not just bandslash but also popslash and Canada RPF and lotrips whoever else reads this -- I have a question for you, which is this: we write about these guys and girls for ourselves, in this fannish context, and it's not the same as reality, and we *know* that and we like it that way. (Didn't someone have a really good entry about filters and audience connected to slash goggles, which touched on something like this?) When we're going "they're so doing it" and "TINHAT", it's about our boys more than the real people who actually exist and think and talk and walk on their own.
But what I want to know is: what are the things that you genuinely, outside of all fannish viewing, think are true in objective reality? The people who you really do think are not heterosexual, or the people whom you believe really are having/did have some sort of romantic or sexual relationship beyond what is reported.
(I can say, "CKR might be queer, but I wouldn't be shocked if he did just like girls." But NOBODY was surprised at all when Lance Bass came out, you know?)
