FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: the Justin/Alex kink meme is open!!!!! You guys, it is retarded how excited I am about this, seriously. It's located over at [livejournal.com profile] omgjustinalex and the main kink meme entry is here. Make sure you read the rules, and then we can all get busy requesting and writing fic. Obviously kinky porn is encouraged, but seriously, anything Justin/Alex or Justin&Alex goes.

MY FACE IS LIKE THIS FOR REAL: :DDDDDD

Look, there's even a banner!

Uh. Other things I wanted to discuss in this entry! That have nothing to do with sexy underage incest for Disney shows!

For example: how amazing was this week's Psych? Shawn at the funeral watching Gus was somehow one of the most endearing things ever, and also very boyfriend-y (although that largely goes without saying for Psych, I realize).

I feel like the different theme song variations should be a joke that is growing old but they still charm me every time.

LOOKIT SHAWN'S FACE WHEN THEY PUT ON THEIR BLACKAPELLA JACKETS:

Nawwwww.

I also enjoy Gus's virile penmanship. And his creepy ringtone. And "Sister had green eyes! That's a special circumstance!"

"How many times have I told you not to mess with the nod?" "Never. You have never one said that to me."

OH GOD. THE ENTIRE EPISODE IS BECAUSE SHAWN WAS WORRIED ABOUT LOSING GUS'S FRIEEEEEEEEEEEEENDSHIP. AND GUS IS LIKE YOU'RE AN IDIOT. BECAUSE THEY'RE BOYFRIENDS

I also appreciate the accidental phone call making their spyiing even more faily than just their usual whisper bitchfights. Also I can't believe they let the detective say they were literally in the lion's den and no one said anything. How un-Psych-like.

As for this week's Bones, it wasn't anything, like, special? But it was still totally enjoyable on all levels. Spies make everything better, you know. ALSO HOW IN LOVE ARE BOOTH AND BRENNAN? ANSWER: SO IN LOVE. SO IN FUCKING LOVE. I think I am finally at the point where I am craving fic for the show, because I am all caught up with episodes and they are still not together and something must fix this./ I have delicious entries bookmarked, but for some reason I always find the beginning to read in the new fandom kind of intimidating. Possibly because knowing the authors and the whole ~~community aspect as become such a big part of my fic experience.

Also, &WENDELL; Seriously, he is my favorite of the interns. Plus it's not like the poor or disadvantaged students triumphing isn't like my bulletproof kink or anything, because my psyche is very very simple and obvious.

FINALLY, I uploaded one of my favorite movies and you should all download it, and then watch it, and then if you want to write fanfiction AUs off of it, you should feel entirely welcome, but just appreciating its genius is also enough. It's called The Lady Eve, and it is a 1941 Preston Sturges screwball comedy starring Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda, involving sexy con-women and innocent-yet-self-righteous rich boys and snakes and revenge and love. (Seriously, I think the bandom story I want most right now is still the one where MCR are conmen and Mikey falls for Pete and Pete finds out who they are right before Mikey was going to tell him the truth. I want that one even more than the sex pollen Summer of Like one where Mikey thinks Pete has finally just got over his weird gay sex hang ups and they have lots of dirty fucking and then the next day Pete freaks the hell out. Either of those stories would make me love the person forever, basically.)

I would love either one of those stories, TOO. MCR AS CONMEN. how is that so easy to see?

I think the reason MCR as con men works so well for me is, like, it's this weird combination of a) they're really easy to trust, right? Like they would meet people and win them over pretty quickly and b) they're pretty good liars, especially Gerard, while seeming really disingenuous and c) they definitely would have their own code of honor and stick to that religiously, even if it was outside of the law, and this would be the kind of crime where either they're not hurting anybody or the people who get hurt bring it on themselves (by getting greedy, by doing illegals things, by trying to con the con men, whatever). Idk, I just love the idea of Frank being an expert of slight at hand and Gerard being able to say anything to anyone and Ray softening people up and Bob just working behind the scenes and Mikey being Mikey.

I'm usually happy for Shawn and Gus to be BFFs For Life, but this episode was soooo boyfriendy.

Yeah, I am usually good either way, but sometimes they go extra far, and I think this was one of those episodes.

No big - it's a show about 5 con artists.
Nate - the brains
Sophie - the smooth talker/actress/grifter
Elliot - the muscle/cook
Hardison - tech
Parker - thief (likes jumping off tall things and explosions)

I too would love a con artist MCR fic

Omigod, The Lady Eve! I heart that movie liek whoa. One of my favorite bits is that long, long take of Barbara Stanwyck running her fingers through Henry Fonda’s hair as he meebles. Plus, its got Eugene Pallette, who I'm always happy to see, as Fonda's dad. Finally, "I need him like the ax needs the turkey," and "...Definitely the same dame."

Have you ever seen Ball of Fire? Howard Hawks directing Stanwyck and Gary Cooper as a nightclub singer and a mild-mannered English professor, respectively, in a gangland comedy version of “Snow White” co-written by Billy Wilder. No, really.

It’s totally awesome. Cooper is part of a team of professors who have spent years living together and working around the clock to write an encyclopedia. He’s responsible for the entry on the English language but realizes that he’s unfamiliar with present-day slang, so he goes into a nightclub, sees Stanwyck doing her act, and asks if he can interview her. Meanwhile, Stanwyck’s gangster boyfriend is nabbed by the cops, and the DA is trying to make her testify, so she needs a hideout until her boyfriend can make bail and the two of them can get married (spousal privilege). Stanwyck moves into the house with the seven nutty professors, and hilarity ensues.
