You know, before the 80 millionth time watching it (the small children like puppies), I never noticed that one of the ways we're clued in Cruella DeVil is evil in the live action 101 Dalmatians is through her feminist leanings.

Anita is good because she wants to get married and have babies and finally get away from this job -- which is good enough now, but not after she has a *family*. Dearie me, no!

But, god, we shouldn't even be surprised Cruella is a ruthless puppy killer. She's obviously one of those man-hating ambitious women. You know how *they* are.

Huh. I never saw that one, but I may add it to my list of reasons I don't like Disney's messages. Should probably see the movie first.

(Do not get me started on how many dalmations and clownfish have ended up dead because of Disney movies and parents who don't know how to say NO to inappropriate pets....)

It's not worth watching, really, anyway; it's pointless and drags on.

Yo, I was an animal shelter volunteer at the same time the live-action 101 came out. Before then, we'd maybe get one dalmation in a month. But within a few months? We always had at least one. Usually more. It was disgusting.

We also got more chihuahuas than ever before after that Taco Bell dog became popular.

Interestingly enough, these two breeds of animals, marketed to children, are actually two of the worst dogs one could possibly give to a child. They're both high-strung and tend to be nervous and don't like being prodded at, and Dalmations need a whole lot of attention and exercise.
