My friends list seems to be ever more multi-fannish all the time. Normally, I love this about it, but the last few days it has been an exercise in frustration. I cannot tell you how many times in the past few days I have gone, "Argh! I want porn! Where is the fic, flist?"

And the flist makes a good faith effort to provide, it does! It says, "Here, pearl, enjoy this SG1! This SGA! This Ocean's 11! This anime! This Dead Zone! This Fast & Furious! This Star Wars!" But I am surly.

And usually, you know, I can enjoy fic in fandoms I'm not really interested in -- sometimes quite a lot. Lately, though, my brain seems to be rejecting everything but due South out of hand. (Well, I'm sure it would accept Wilby Wonderful or Twitch City, too, but there is not much danger of that.) Stupid brain! Let me enjoy the good fic!

In conclusion: everybody wants to have sex with Ray Kowalski. Also, cock.

See, I'm just as good with short fic -- I finish long stuff really damn fast anyway. I just want, you know. A constant stream.

I read the short fic too fast. I read the long stuff fast too, but that at least whets my appetite. Slightly. :)

see, I don't necessarily get more enjoyment from longer fic -- it really depends on the story. (Actually, ds is the first fandom that I've really enjoyed long fic at all -- I used to get bored really easily with anything over 100k or so.)

True, it does depend on the fic. I read a lot at work and since I have to save fic to do that, I tend to go for the long stuff so I can just read one all night.

I've always been a long fic person. I drool over fics that are over 600k (and well-written). They're like manna from heaven to me. :)
