Problem solved and music has been transferred! Thanks so much, guys.
Gmail is being absolute bitch to me, sadly. I'm not getting any livejournal comments, and it also seems to be holding beta responses hostage, which is incredibly frustrating.
I'm bored and listening to Fall Out Boy and reading bandslash. Whatt the hell? GODDAMMIT ZEE. :[ I have had "This Ain't a Scene, It's a Goddammn Arms Race" stuck in my head for two days.
(Back in the day, popslash was really one of my favorite not-in-the-fandom-but-joy-in-reading places, but I haven't read it in quite a while. So it's understandable that when Zee goes "Look! Cute boys! They make music! And LOVE each other! And they're big dorky BOYS!" I go "Oh, really?"
Anyway. Links to stories?)
In conclusion, SERIOUSLY GMAIL GIVE ME MY MAIL.

13/2/07 21:23 (UTC)1. Plug in your iPod.
2. From the Desktop, go to My Computer and find the iPod (it will look like a new hard drive and is usually designated by a drive letter. i e. E: or F:)
3. Open it.
4. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View (the tab) > scroll to Show Hidden Files and Folders and click it.
5. Click OK
6. Go back to your iPod folder/drive, there you will find a new folder called iPod_Control
7. Open it.
8. The Music folder in it will have a bunch of folders named F00, F01 and so on. These contain all your music, in my case approx. 100 tracks each.
9. Highlight and drag them into iTunes, either the main window or where it says Library.
10. Voila! :)

13/2/07 21:36 (UTC)On the apple website, it says you can turn off automatic updating:
1. Connect iPod to your computer
2. Open iTunes.
3. Select iPod in the iTunes source list.
4. Click the Options button.
5. Select "Manually manage songs and playlists.
I hope it works! I will feel terrible if you lose all your music!

13/2/07 22:16 (UTC)Re: transfering music, set up a dummy AIM account and do a "Transfer Folder". Usually helps if you've broken it up into 3 or 4 parts (depending on the size of your library), sometimes it goes crazy fast. Sometimes not. At least that's what I do. Now I have an external hard drive, so I think that's what I get to do now.
