Because, um, I couldn't sleep last night and ended up doing this instead. Hmm.
Setting: Northeast United States, biggest excesses of the Jazz Age era.
Main Characters:
Ralph and Clara Westcott (Paul Gross and Molly Parker): Twins, rich, attractive, smart, seductive. They like parties and fun and decadence and beautiful things. Ralph is quieter and subtler, and Clara is louder and more overt, but they both get what they want. They have a very complex and fucked-up relationship between themselves.
Harry Dove (Callum Keith Rennie): A brilliant artist who's been struggling for years, he's just had his first big success, which is how he ends up at one of the Westcotts' parties. Ralph and Clara adopt him as a sort of pet, and he gets more and more involved with them, staying with them, getting sucked into their own little incestuous world.
Minor characters:
Chauncey Lofton (Don McKellar): one of their frequent party guests. Born rich and high class, arrogant, committed socialist who talks all the time about the common man.
Alma Sullivan (Rachel McAdams): another frequent guest and friend. Pretty, fast, likes cocktails and short skirts and cigarette holders and dancing all night; wants nothing more than to be outrageous.
Marguerite Heller (Martha Burns): another one of their circle. Avant-garde poet, intelligentsia, obsessed with culture. Probably the one who first discovers Harry Dove and brings him along.
Mae Cottle (Ellen Page): Clara's daughter from her short-lived marriage. A prodigy and genius who spends the majority of her time at school in Europe, only arriving at the Westcotts' for occasional brief visits.
Frank Cottle (Peter Outerbridge): Clara's ex and Mae's father. He was the Westcotts' chauffeur before he and Clara eloped when she was 18. The marriage only lasted a few months before Clara came back home, had the baby, and then forgot the whole thing like it had never happened.
Bess (Katherine Heigl): Very pretty, sort of shy and naive maid in the house. She tries to be proper, and gets embarrassed easily when the master and mistress notice her to flirt her and tell her how pretty she is, etc.
Julius (Jeffrey Dean Morgan): Another servant; he pretty much runs the entire household and knows everything that is ever going on there.
ANYWAY. In the world of REAL FANDOMS! I just watched Heroes 1x05, and oh my god, dudes. I feel like I should have lots and lots to say about this show, so it's really weird that I don't, not at all. All I have to say is BWEEEEEEEEEE THIS SHOW I LOVE YOU SO MUCH SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE. I am ridiculously in love.
On the list of things that fandom is making me do that I will probably regret in the near future:
a) I'm downloading Hard Candy for Ellen Page.
b) I signed up for
